I was reading a second ago about the guy who had his e-cig go off in his pocket at a gas station. His leg caught on fire and there were nasty photos of his in the hospital. I guess I can understand a high wattage mech mod without a safety doing that kind of damage.

I found the guys FB, and people are writing on his wall asking about the type of battery he was using, and he hasn't answered them. He's definitely hiding something. Either from embarrassment of user error, or he's protecting a company that paid him off or something.

I'm going to look into later today. But I did just find a post. When someone asked what type of battery, he mentioned the "It was an efest 18650. I'm really not trying to get any local business in trouble. But I definitely think something needs to be done about keeping these things safe and educating people on how dangerous they currently are."

When the story broke, I read the Cliff Notes and someone posted what appeared to be a claim that it was a loose cell in his pocket (the vid appears to show him dropping his change in just before the fireworks).

If there's a reason for him to be circumspect about the details, that would do.

The Pico most likely has a .5 amp charger, even if you're wall adapter is rated higher (which is a good thing) the mod won't charge higher than that. Charging a fully depleted hg2 will take something around 7 hours, possibly more.

I read the instructions last night because it wasn't self explanatory how to switch back into wattage mode. I believe the instructions said something about 1A charging.

I had barely used it last night after I took it off the charger. By the time I got to work this morning vaping away at 6.9 watts, the battery had dipped a little bit. This is with probably 0.5ml of vaping or less. So with my obsessive tendencies, I put it back on the charger when I got to work. It's been charging for 45 minutes now......

Since you mention it, and I was needing to swap batteries anyway...

I just popped mine on with an in-line meter. Started at 0.88A and ramped up to 0.9A.
That's where it's held for about 15 minutes, so... 1A onboard charger, +/- 10% ?

Geez so you're telling me if I you had a 18650 in your pocket with some loose change it could go pooof! and cause severe injury to someones leg?

Very much so.
Very, very, very much so. :(

"Energy" wise... these are incredibly dense little packages.
Adult supervision required. Everyone... be that adult. :p

This is a bit irritating. As I said earlier, I had used my pico for like 0.5 ml of liquid and the battery dipped a lil bit, so I put it back on the charger.

Going on an hour now of charging. I'm going to be pretty annoyed if it doesn't shut off soon.

It just shut off. 1 hour and 20 mins approximately.

The very basic cardboard packaging is standard.
I bet they do.

The plain sticker is for transport/import identification. Peel one off.

(why they insist on placing it directly over the factory stamp... I've no idea)

You were right. The sticker did come right off and reveal the lettering.

What's the batt level read in Bypass Mode?

4.17V

That's awesome. About time that we get more than a .5 amp charge rate on mods.

When the battery nears a full charge the charge rate decreases drastically. The same happens with external chargers. That is in order to safeguard the battery.

Form factor on the pico feels pretty good. I don't think I'll have issues with the switch. It just went from taller and skinnier to shorter and fatter.

It does feel kinda heavy with the HG2, and a stainless steel Kayfun on it though.

If I decide to stop being lazy, I might even pull out my Mutation dripper. I only used it once and didn't like it. Probably cuz I was only getting around 38 watts to it. My friend said I'd probably need a min of 60 watts.

Lmaoooooo...so now I don't feel so bad about wanting a white one, too!

I like my white one. I do wish it had the same iridescence as my VTC.

I swear... I will unbox my white 100TC (soon) to compare the three.
Someone said the 100's white is flatter or matte, the PICO is gloss. Curious.

I mean I've had supposed 2500-3000 mah devices before, and they never took that long. The HG2 came around 1/3 charged already too. 4 hours to charge 2/3 of the battery? Seems a bit much.

I've always had this concern about charging my vape and going to sleep, or leaving it to charge while I take a shower or something. You hear about all these explosions and stuff, but the media always has it's own agenda, so they never specify the device that was used.

I was reading a second ago about the guy who had his e-cig go off in his pocket at a gas station. His leg caught on fire and there were nasty photos of his in the hospital. I guess I can understand a high wattage mech mod without a safety doing that kind of damage.

I had looked into that too. It wasn't clear in any of the satires I read, but it seemed to me that 18650 was loose in his pocket, probably with loose change too.

EDIT: Whoa, didn't realize I missed a whole page of replies haha.

Anyway, As for charging in the device, all I can say is I tried it one time in the Pico and the the LG didn't last me NEARLY as long the following day so I'm not bothering with charging it that way unless it's a necessity.
