I tested the USB charge, the Pico gets quite WARM, a little too much for my taste. I'd use it in a pinch with no tank on it, though it didn't seem to transfer much heat to the tank. There is a reason most say to use an external charger, and that's SAFETY! I use and recommend the xtar VP2 (2-Bay) charger, though I don't leave that unattended either. If you've ever experienced any kind of home fire, you'll spare no expense to never have one again. VAPE & Charge SAFE!
That's the one I have and love it to a point. I use a Provari Mini that uses 14590 batteries and it doesn't want to charge those batteries because the slider bar doesn't get tight enough to make good contact. :(

That's odd, as the Xtar VP2 manual states it charges the small 14500's. Is your slider spring broken?

No it's not broken but I think the constant charging of 18390's has caused it to not go up as far as it used to. I've been using this charger for almost 2 years. It charges the 14590's but I have to put them in and physically push the lever up. One side seems looser than the other.

That's what I meant, the SPRING, while not "broken", is no longer doing its job. I don't charge 14500's often, but the longer 18650's would compress the spring even more, you can see it in the track. Even though it's 2 years old, it's worth an email to Xtar, or the vendor, I've never heard of that issue, sorry for your troubles.

Geez so you're telling me if I you had a 18650 in your pocket with some loose change it could go pooof! and cause severe injury to someones leg?
Very much so.
Very, very, very much so. :(

"Energy" wise... these are incredibly dense little packages.
Adult supervision required. Everyone... be that adult. :p

Even with a pocket full of change, it's still practically a freak accident. I'd hate to be tasked with reproducing it in the laboratory.

It's no biggie really. I'm looking around for a new battery charger anyway although this time I think it will be a 4 bay. Thanks! :)

I've the 'gray' one (and pink)
I like and have other grays, but have to say this Pico gray is not very good looking
it is one of the uglier grays I've seen IMO
it is sorta, kinda a blue/gray - not the gray gray or white gray (it's a dull off-gray)
but it is OK I guess... meh
- - -
I think the bottom (+) (-) buttons are very nice
odd at first because like no other, but gets familiar very qwik !
they're recessed enuff there should never be a problem...

Thanks for the heads up on the fugly grey. If the grey isn't "neutral" it's a total gamble for me.

Well, I canceled my FT preorder and ordered a simple kit from RMV. I ordered the grey. If I don't like it I will just wrap it as I do all my batteries!! Hum, leather or wood tone? Perhaps marble? We shall see when it gets here.
Oooh, marble!

pufZ...now that you've had your Pico's for awhile...has it become easier (or "more natural") to find the Fire Button???
[I found that after I added a couple Wismec Presa-40W's to my Rotation...I began to find it harder to locate the Fire Buttons on my iStick-30W's and TC40W's  ]
In another thread...I remember you recommending the CLR coils (for the TRON tank).
To me...these ECR heads look very similar to the CLR heads.
What are the differences (if any) between the Eleaf ECR heads and the Joyetech eGo ONE CLR heads???
..

For me the fire button is so easy to find without looking for it. Merely because I know it's on the same side as the tank. (OAN) I can see I'll be refilling this tank often. These coils love sucking up juice. [emoji12]

nopie, it don’t fit my hand
you know the “grip” or the ‘hold’
you cup it in your hand, curl you baby finger to hold bottom
well when I do that, the fire button lands right between my first & second fingers
I have to “re-grip” it to get to the button...

- - -

well the ECR is THREE times bigger than the CLR
bigger is easier to work in/on
but I still think the CLR is just great
it is the perfect coil , ‘to me’
well built, very consistent, very positive (sure footed)
but ECR is better than rebuilding the Kanger (stock coils)

-- re-read your post, better answer required
the ECR & CLR are very same like design build
•ECR is bigger and 'snaps' together (2 part body), lots of room
and is easy to install wire/wick
•CLR is one body with screw-on cap - it also has the threaded juice flow ring
that is very nice to build with, it is also easy to install coil into

I truly like them both and is why I bought many of them

Well good luck. I stiil like the Xtar brand, they make a 4-bay unit, but if that brand turns you off, then Nitecore is another great choice, take a look at those offerings. For those that don't have an external charger, but are considering one, a nice feature found on the better ones, is a setting that allows one to choose the charge rate. While many mods and cell phones can charger at a 1 amp rate, the Xtar XP2 I use, has settings for .25, .5 and 1amp charging, the fastest. I use the .5 amp setting, less stress, batteries last longer, if your not in a hurry.

Another downside to directly charging your mod via USB, that design is to get the mod's battery charged as quick as it can, at the expense of the life of the battery. Remember I mentioned some posts back that the Pico gets warm when I tested the direct USB charge. Battery experts constantly say one of the biggest enemies to a battery is HEAT.
