Also, Bellus and GobMini/GobMiniV2 glass fits the Melo3 mini as well, just so you know... and those can be really cheap over from FT (and some the other online retailers).

Oh and Firmware v1.01 for the Pico is out. Not sure how that flew over my radar, just stumbled upon it while checking the official Pico site to see if there were any updates. Sorry if it's old news for you folks.

Check it out (at the very bottom): iStick Pico Kit Firmware Upgradeable - iSmoka/Eleaf electronic cigarette

Also, this means that VTC Mini style custom firmwares are inbound soon woo!
I've never even upgraded my VTC mini. Is there a particular reason I should that I don't know about? I vape at 12-15 watts, so increasing from 60 to 75 doesn't interest me.

Crap, they went and added the damn "Start Mode".
At least the Pico copies the, IMO "Best in Breed, control schema of the RX... allowing you to scroll through the modes in both directions. "It's important." :p

And yeah... having a .bin to play with should make the nFirmware kiddies happy. :D

You're making me feel young lol.

That said, looking through the editor and the site, not really much fun to be had anyway... until the patches roll in for the Pico that is (hopefully they will).

Otherwise, the only custom look worth porting over for me would be the Aperture/Portal one, and even that just for the kewl "digital" digits.

@MikeADore : Sometimes the updates fixes bugs as well (which includes better ohm/TC sensitivity or better wattage delivery), and adds features (that might or might not be worth it).

Sometimes, it just adds new bugs to live with lol, so it's pretty much luck of the draw.

It's an extremely painless process to update/downgrade firmwares anyway (at least for the Pico... personally I haven't updated my VTC Mini either), so it's worth a shot just to see if it fixes anything.

They do include the base v1 firmware as well so you can always go back.

So far I can't really tell if anything has changed - but everything does feel... better... placebo or otherwise.

I can't figure what Smart Mode is...it just seems to be a differeny VW display. Anybody got more details?

Oh yeah, how can you get rid of the logo? It stays on too long. Almost thought I bricked my Pico. Tried to upgrade again, but canceled the update and then it wouldn't turn on! Went back and re-applied the update and eveything worked again...and the logo is still there.

Thanks for the tip, @Valkyrie_kara !

It seems like they would give more info on new features and improvements.
They did with the first download, all the instructions for the new features are there...

The second option is the actual firmware.

so, lets see all the custom logos that peeps are using :D

I think I'm going to be BORING, and use my name, so if I leave it down someplace, like work, someone "may" return it to me. In a strange location, perhaps my cell phone number, but I doubt a stranger would be bothered to call. Just a thought.

Funnily enough, I skipped installing the logo, and I don't have anything on except the puff counter in VW mode.

So, it's supposed to replace the puff counter?

Also, VW mode is needlessly simplified, now that it doesn't have a voltage display. Not that it matters as I run TC full time now.

I only took a quick look at the pics on their page, but... is that a "take it or leave it" situation, new version and that's it?

For a brief, shining moment in time ( :D ) they gave us two quite different layouts with the identical feature set for our VTCs (1.3 & 2.0 IIRC)... I was hoping this "stripped" VW display was optional.

Perhaps the display code still exists in the .bin file, and nFirmware will provide the solution... if Eleaf haven't.

Yeah its take it or leave it, unfortunately. Hopefully patches for NFE will come along to ractify that little issue, if patches can even offer such functionality.

If the code is still in there, I don't see why not.
Just a brief look at the list of VTC/Presa patches a few weeks ago showed a number of surprising display attributes that could be toggled with a simple flag setting.

The smaller "landscape" orientation displays will probably have fewer options coded for in the first place, they lack the screen resolution... but the possibility's there.

A lot of those patches are actually hacks and jumps to new areas other than flags. The one for the Cuboid that makes the power go up by 1 instead of .1 overwrites some of the unused character table with it's code. So if you apply a font change after the patch you'll break the patch.

Apply Resources first then Patches last.

My impression was that for example... the battery charge display as percentage vs. thermometer bar was factory code and toggled with nFWare (I'm blanking on other examples... should have a look at the thing, it's been weeks).

Are those actually user code?
