are they a lot taller than a pico? are they top heavy? easy to tip over?
Very easy to hold, haven't tipped mine yet. Here's next to my pico

thanks, that was my assumption. I wish listed it but will probably just stick to more picos for the stash for me and my roomie. I don't use them often (just when out and about some times) but she has 2 in rotation and is very prone to dropping/tipping her mod.
Picos are tough lil suckers..I had mine in a pocket while walking my dog. I tripped on a broken curb, went down and landed on the Pico, knocked it out of my pocket and watched it fly across the pavement...lol...just a few scratches!

Just a speculative heads-up for anyone interested in JTech TC...

This has been an interesting week for the VTC.
We got an update with TC Pre-Heat... and the ugliest, hardest to read JT display format to date. So two days later, we got the pre-heat rolled into the previous display. :p

They really didn't think it through, it's that bad, but don't worry... it's for the large portrait display, they've already messed up this one enough I should think.
(Sorry... I'm aware there are some who prefer the new display).

Keep in mind I'm talking about the VTC, not the newer VTwo Mini... so will we get pre-heat control on the Pico as well?

Preheat will be most excellent!

I have a 0.44 SS Clapton in a Lil' Serpent and figured it would be a good candidate, so I'm trying it now. As others have commented... JT again, yes AGAIN, has dicked around with the SS316 TCR.
Too soft/low I'm guessing so I've got a mem slot up at 112 and testing continues.

Jury's still out (it's been an hour) but I believe it'll be a keeper.
If so, I hope it gets ported around the JT stable soon... the TC100 could make good use of it.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
Since this was the only place I see this mentioned, I thought I'd give some feedback. Just received The Aster mod from Desert Vapes. It's a cute little sucker. Yeah the button is in a higher spot but it is a very comfortable placement. The mod feels like half the size of my vtc mini. The way its shaped though it is only slightly smaller. As far as tank size goes, The Merlin (23mm I believe) fits beautifully. The Borea has a slight overhang.
the Aster is a pretty cool & slimmer looking mod..............nice!

I didn't try any TC stuff yet, thanks for the heads up on the SS316 TCR!
I did try out the preheat on my Temple build with dual 22g. I set the PH to 160W/1S and it ramped the coils up quite nicely before dropping back to my 120W setting.

I will try me some SS TC later.

The JT engineering department... :w00t:

I'm not aware of any other maker that puts out so many usable, desirable features in updates, actually adding value to the product, often seemingly in response to requests (or complaints) of the user base... and then manages to repeatedly screw up the UI over... and over.

Are they cheap, budget quality mods with all the expected issues and failures?
Absolutely. Sad but true.

But damn... it's nice to have a company actually update their updateable products.

Like I said, I'd like to see the PH spread through the line.
I'd even try to resurrect my RX if an update came out for it.

Well it seems that the Ti setting on the Pico does not work properly with the iStick_Pico_V1.02.bin firmware.

I put a twisted 28g build on the Merlin that measures 0.24‎Ω. With the resistance locked and power set to 40W/420F, it vapes like a champ. Let the Pico set for a while, the resistance drops to 0.21‎Ω, it vapes poorly and hits TP instantly...

Shades of the eVic VTC Mini. :nah:

I'll have to roll the firmware back to 1.01 and see if it is the same.

With the amazingly easy, and working, update app (hey... JoyeTech can't do everything wrong ;) ) it's not too bad to just switch back and forth to check the built-in TCR values.

The new VTC update seems to have changed the 316 TCR, not happy about that either.

On the upside... it includes pre-heat.
Wait... I think I said that here already. o_O

So someone else is noticing these issues and the very very slow Ω drops. I am still using my titanium coil in there now, but don't even use stock Ti mode anymore. I set my M1 mode to use a TCR of 370 for my titanium coils. It seems to work pretty well, I have my watts set to 20, and temp set to 460F and it takes at least a good 5 seconds for it to hit Temp Protection mode.

Titanium Update...
The manual TCR failed as well, after a bit of sitting the resistance dropped to 0.20‎Ω and a very poor vape resulted. I played that game with the VTC Mini and won't do it with the Pico.

So with the Titanium coil yanked out of the Merlin and a parallel 28g SS430 installed. A manual SS TCR of 138 and it's back to "Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams" quoting Robin Leach.

I am going to buy some more Diy juice supplies and some new batteries for the Pico from IMR later today (my old 10a ones are really really at the end of their life). I might take a look and see if there is a good place to buy some bulk ss wire. I know I want to get some more notch coils as well. The notch coil worked great.
