A friend of mine had the charge port on his Pico detach from the mod.

I sold him my Vapemaggedon backup (Evic VTC Mini) that I bought months ago, but never opened. I see that the VTC Mini is discontinued now, and the VTC Mini 2 is the current device.

So I have a few questions if you guys could help me out.

There is a VTC Mini 60w and a VTC Mini 75w. Is it the same device, but the 75w has newer firmware? The one I sold my friend was a 75w. I know all you have to do is connect it to a computer, but I've been told by more than 1 person in the security industry to not do that. Not sure at this point if I even care, since I'm a low wattage vaper.

I think the VTC Mini two supports a higher MAH battery and may accept more types of coil or whatever. Not sure. Oh yeah, it has a clock too. Is that all there is? They're about the same price, VTC Mini 1 is $35, VTwo Mini is $39.

I like the Pico, so maybe I'll get another one. There hasn't really been a movement in pricing lately, so I can probably hold off. I just don't want wait too long and see an overnight surge in pricing one day. Should I grab one now, and let it sit indefinitely as a backup or do I have a lot of time? That VTC Mini was still in the packaging, and had been sitting on my desk for the past 3-4 months.

P.S. I saw the VTC mini close up after we opened it yesterday. It's a nice device. It's about an inch taller, but skinnier, and it's got weight behind it, even without the battery. I was surprised at the strength of that magnet on the battery door.

Also, feel free to pass along any deals for the VTC Mini or Pico. I got the VTC for $30 from Gearbest, and I've seen Picos for $21 from them before. I don't mind getting it from China to save a few bucks, because I'm not in any rush whatsoever. Looks like Gearbest has the black Pico for $22.50. Can't get the coupon to apply. Oh yeah, and for the VTC Mini I only want black. For a Pico a brushed SS or grey, or flat black may be acceptable.

Wow, just saw the Eleaf A Ster that someone had posted a picture of. That's an interesting looking device. Not a fan of tall mods though. Sometimes you buy pants/jeans and their pockets aren't that deep. Even with my istick 30w and protank it would stick out of my pants sometimes.

Okay, two of these on the way (couldn't resist at $35 a pop and no shipping when the B&M up the road wanted $70 for just one)
I needed something smaller for the office.. been using my Sigelei 100 forever..

So, for those of you using the Pico, are there better tanks to purchase? I'm off to drift through the thread, but figured asking might get some quicker answers.

Just checked with a friend at work, my Atlantis fits, and hits, just fine, which means my Herakles will as well, so at least 4 tanks in the rotation.. I'll be a happy camper..

If you have biggish hands @Core618, you might also consider Pico Mega. I have both Picos but prefer the Mega, in part because it fits more securely in the palm of my hand. The regular Pico is more like a fingertip mod for me. Of course the extra mAh is the other plus.

Yea, I may look into one later, thanks. I can palm a basketball... so the pico does look pretty tiny when I hold it, but that was the idea for using at the office.

Just started having a big issue with my pico tonight. I built a normal kanthal coil for it, and when I have to tank screwed on, The ohms show up and go away for a few seconds it is like very randomly gaining and loosing connection. I can vape it if I catch it while it shows the ohms, but I'm not sure why it's messing up like that. Going to try to look at the coil again. It test burned just fine when I was building it.

Thought the Atlantis EVO would look great on a Vaporesso Target Mini and together would be perfect for a pocketable night on the town. Great little mod for that kind of scenario but I do prefer the Pico's size in my hand more, not to mention the battery capabilities.

Did you try and put another tank on it? That should narrow down your problem.
I tried a regular kanthal coil on it and I was counting the seconds between it shorting out, and they were really random. But I took it apart and tightened the grub screws and that didn't help. I couldn't find anything wrong with the coil that would cause it. Finally I just pulled the kanthal coil off and wrapped a titanium coil and it worked fine after that. I don't know if there was a defect in the kanthal or what, but it didn't like the kanthal coil I made. I'll just get some SS and do away with the titanium. I've tried it, and now it's time to move on. :)
