hallo community, i have the pico mega but that should not be different with the pico, i started using it in bypass mode to see difference between wattage mode and i noticed a watt index while vaping on bypass mode . that watt index went from 38 to 40 watts, with battery at 4.1 volts and 0.25 ohm ressistance it should fire up to 66 watts, does anyone know what kind of safety measures it uses in bypass? perhaps it drops the volt at 3.3 in bypass mode or my battery is pathetic under load and shags 0.8 volts at least............oh my god battery got down to 4 volts and now watts go 36 to 37, well thats enough for me to go back to 18650

What 26650 are you using?

I have had my Pico "not" stop firing after I released the button, twice now. Both times I pulled the battery out and put it back in and it worked properly again. Both times, perhaps just a coincidence, when I put the battery back in, I noticed that the battery bar was all the way down, or close to it (3.5V-ish on my charger). Anyone have this happen before?

It did this again when I grabbed a battery that I thought was charged, but it wasn't. I went ahead and went back to the V1.01 FW, that I was running before this started happening, to see if this is the cause. I also sent an email to eleaf, but I haven't got an answer back yet. I will report back when I find something out.

Thanks for bumping the topic, I did say in the other thread I'd keep an eye out.

Because the internal code is so nearly identical across some dozen or so JT/Eleaf/Wismec mods... it they did manage to introduce a bug, I'm concerned it could migrate across the product lines.
Odd to be pulling for an actual hardware fault. :(

But it'll be a week or so before I get my lappy up again and start catching up on updates... so at least this time around, I don't have to play guinea pig. :D

"Dear Customer, Please try to change a tank to have a try. Best wishes!"

This was the email that I got back from Eleaf. Can you believe it?
It sounds like eleaf does not believe the problem is their device. What atomizer are you using when this happens? Has this happened with more than one atomizer? Can you let the device fire until 10 seconds has passed? When it happens does loosening the atomizer stop the firing? I upgraded the firmware on a pico and a mega then ran them both until they stopped firing more than once to see what totals appeared on the puff counter and did not encounter the problem you describe.

I was thinking it sounded more like the person that answers their email hasn't a clue what they are talking about. I've been using a T22 with a 1.5 ohm coil. I can't imagine how the tank would have anything to do with it. I haven't tried waiting past 10 seconds as it kind of freaked me out when it would't shut off. ;)

Tech support is a dodgy endeavor, and it doesn't take an international connection.

I'm wrestling with US HP over a recovery media for my laptop.
The tech drone on the phone told me, and this is a real paraphrase... "... it's 5 years old, that's obsolete, we don't support it anymore... no, you can't buy a new copy of Win 7, that won't work... you should buy a new computer."

I'll take "escalation to your supervisor's supervisor", for $400 Alex.

Good times (this was last week, the replacement USB arrives tomorrow, fingers crossed). ;)

I had the same thing happen several times on my Pico. That is one reason I wanted to find a different mod.

A new copy of windows 7 will work fine. Been working on computers most of my life. Just get new windows 7 and do a clean install. (will delete everything on computer so backup your files.) When you insert the disc and boot to it, installation is pretty straight forward.

Yes, I'm aware.
Hence the "give me your boss" (which eventually necessitated his superior as well).

I'm trying to recover a borked system, without recovery discs; any other optical equipped comp; or one capable of handling the creation of a USB from ISOs.

The first HP USB appears to have an error. If the replacement build does as well... it means HP really can't support my 5 year old Pavilion and I'll have to purchase a solution elsewhere.

Well, I went back to V1.01, drained the battery till it flashed and no issue. I'll need to try it a few more times before I'm convinced.

You mean you didn't just change tanks and have a try ? :p

Well... if it does turn out to be s/w, that's not the answer I'd be hoping for.
Thanks, keep at it and let us know (bet the batteries seem to last longer when you want them to drain quick :D ).

Hey @Jim_ MDP are you running this firmware on any of your devices? I think you have a few on the supported list.

Compatible hardwares:
  • eVic VTC Mini
  • eVic VTC Dual
  • eVic VTwo Mini
  • eVic VTwo
  • eVic AIO
  • eVic Basic
  • eGrip II / Light
  • Cuboid
  • Cuboid Mini
  • Wismec Presa TC75W
  • Wismec Presa TC100W
  • Wismec Reuleaux RX75
  • Wismec Reuleaux RX200S
  • Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3
Absolutely AMAZING, it's what the factory firmware should have been from day 1!

So, you're using the V1.03 FW. Are you using the preheat function?

I haven't tried it yet, but have planned to for a few weeks, though of my dozen JT mods... oddly, the only big screen is my original VTC. That's running the old display/new PH update from JT (#.# ?).

My "Escribe & All JT updates" Lenovo machine is down and I'll find out today if round two with HP restores my old big laptop, then I'll start getting back to updates/new options... especially the DNAs TBH, a number of little adjustments I'd like to get around to on those.

But that myevic (very geeky and Escribe-like) is such a leap from the NFE editor, I've got to have a look. :D
