I have spent a few days vaping on my iStick, and no matter what, I still get the intermittent burnt hits. I keep it set as low as I can, and I have tried both voltage and wattage. It's not a wicking issue, as my juices are all 65/35 or 70/30 (pg/vg). It's not a resistance problem either, as I have tried coils that range between 2.0 to 2.9 ohms.

I have never had this problem my Twists, which are set at 3.6V no matter what the coil resistance is, and they hit perfectly every single time. My MVP is set slightly lower at 3.4V, as it does hit harder, but it still doesn't burn my juice outright. Setting the iStick to 3.4V or 3.6V is guaranteed burnt flavor.

It really feels like my iStick is faulty, and that the regulator is damaged. The burnt hits I am talking about aren't just a little burnt either. It literally tastes like the iStick is firing at the full 5.5V or 20W. It's awful!

Some Cloupor DNA30 clones and Fasttech delivered Hana clones have that precise impolite behaviour.... they do not regulate, they simply fire like a mechanical, no matter what you can toy on the buttonry and screen.... Obviously, they are faulty and as such, they've been returned...

I cannot recall now if you made some voltage measurements or not, but that would be the key diagnostic tool, if your iStick is performig in the same way.

What does all that mean in laymams terms. (common man terms)???

Is there a doctor in the house?

If you find one, and it is a female psychiatrist, please divert her to my loving arms......

... I really need one! I'm worse than a pack of goats (that's a Spanish idiom, looking for a suitable translation, ....
(UK) be completely mad, be off you head
(US) be off your rocker, be totally nuts
be as crazy as a loon, be as nutty as a fruitcake
)

O.K., it's official, I'm that guy!......

Reading over that data I suddenly realised that the last time I took any classroom classes was in 1987 so that is way over this old man's head to include any toupee's LOL. I can definately see why I didn't go for an engineering degree because with all those equations makes me want but a vowel. I wonder what what happen if you factored in E=MC squared into a vaping mod. hmmmm

Then you would have an iStick squared:laugh:

You are obviously good at electronics......But if women are your desire, there must be at least one girl in Spain you can find. I know some in the USA but they are not good swimmers!

Mmm, err,,, she caught me with my guard down 24 years ago.....

...but do not tell her a word! She'll psychoanalyse me ASAP.....

... and I'd rather graze herbs.....

Beeee!

BTW, it is "'estar como una cabra" or, for the worst cases, "peor que una manada de cabras" (to be like a goat/be worse than a pack of goats)....

I took some Spanish in the seventh grade but I can't remember to much now at 63 years old. All I can say is that if I was still smoking cigarettes I would probably be dead.
Sorry I can't fully understand your mathematical graphs....But I do appreciate your time and effort.
Buenas noches everyone!

For the record here's my info and experience. I have 2 Sticks, both purchased from Eleafus.com I use LR coils. 1.5-1.9ohm, rebuilt by me. In all my vaping history, 5+yrs. I have NEVER been able to vape above 4.0-4.2v. I am currently vaping 1.9ohm coil at 4.1v=9w. I always vape in watts between 7.5-9w, depending on the liquid I'm using, pg/vg level and flavor. It gives me a "similar to smoking" type vape:)

I have watched everyone go round and round about watts/volts/waveforms ad nauseum......I have found no flaws in volts, no rattlesnake in my Stick, and thoroughly enjoy the fact that a $30-50 device gives me long batt life and a more than satisfactory vaping experience. Everyone who is having these mathematical vs waveform vs output complaints, should contact Eleaf or Joytech and request a refund if they feel they have a defective product.

I would hate to see a newbie talked out of trying this relatively inexpensive mod starting out vaping. If these had been around when I started vaping those tiny 150mAh 510 sticks that you had to charge numerous times a day.......I'd have been in heaven, and saved sooo much money.:2c::2c::2c:

You've made your point, and, as far as this thread might arise new vapers concerns, you're absolutely right.

But ask yourself just one thing.....What is the likelihood of Joyetech, iSmoka, eLeaf or whatsoever company behind the iStick addresing this issues, if we do not get things right?

Sorrily, it forces us to call on some electrical ghosts, as 'whatsoever' has proved us that, at least on some units, they lack of proper understanding of their own creation. Their easy path, at the pace they are selling it, is to improve some aesthetics and other suggestions (the 510 and so on) and to leave the chipset and power circuits untainted...... so we'll get an iStick Mk II AND a "PWM-gate" reloaded......

BTW, I'm a chemist......without fear of lightnings, of course.....:)

If, as this thread indicates, there is a small percentage of customers who are unhappy with the electrical output of this device, I wouldn't expect them to address it at all. Why would they? They're selling like hotcakes.

You've made your point, and, as far as [truth in advertising] concerns, you're absolutely [well, could be] right.

But...see RIMP's post just above: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ion/601111-eleaf-istick-290.html#post14329701

So I guess you favor heavy regulation of mods so that all stats are truthfully reported? Maybe prototypes should be submitted to some governmental agency for approval before they hit the market? Or do you think all the manufacturers of mods should agree upon what specs they use in their advertising? Are you saying definitively that Eleaf LIED about the reported specs? Are you saying that Eleaf is deceiving people into buying the iStick? That we shouldn't buy the mod because Eleaf is misrepresenting specs? Will you be filing a false advertising complaint if it's true that Eleaf misrepresented the voltage/watt specs?

Be careful of what you wish for, for it may come true.

The E-Bay seller ecig-club located in Osseo Minnesota is selling Isticks before he has them in hand. He has not returned my emails. I'm sorry for posting about his auctions . I also bought one from him that has NOT been shipped.

I just got an email from the seller . He says the post office in his town is screwing up all of his tracking . I guess it's possible.

I have 2 iStick questions that have likely been addressed many times here, but please humor me! Question 1, can I use my iPhone wall plug and mini USB from my MVP to charge it safely? Question 2, is my Nautilus Mini going to work, or will I need an adapter?
Thanks in advance y'all. Mine is due to arrive anytime now and I want to be ready to go!
