That is where is mine came from was LF, I went the Riva route instead of the EGO route due to the 3.7 instead of 3.2. This forum was a lot different in those days

Yes. It was a much smaller community back then. I liked the Rivas because they were available in 808 connection. That is what I liked and used at the time. I bought my first one from Cig Easy for $89.00 plus 2 more for my mom and husband. Just a few months later, LF had the $30 deals. Story of my life. Not sure how much longer I could have made it with the minis though. Wanted to give up so many times.

Such a PITA just to leave the house for a few hours. Had to have juice, several charged batteries, cartos, etc.

I have fell off the wagon a 2 or 3 times but I keep coming back and trying again. Those 808 conections sounds like the 901 model

They were very similar and would work with an 808 battery / vice versa but, the 808s were a little more airy. Whistled a bit when vaped.

V4L sells 808s still. I think.

I loved my 808s so much that my first mod was a Buzz. One of the many reasons was that they made them with 808 top caps.

Some of you might enjoy this thread, if you haven't seen it.

I made my several mini kits work, supported by the use of an ego. Thank goodness for that ego! In no time I had ego's for out and about and one nice "mech" mod just for home. Once I knew I was a vaper, for sure, and my budget got in line, I started looking for interesting or convenient additions.....and still do so today. :)

Yes vapor4life still does the 808, I was doing there Zues series with their smilieozers for a while till they started having problems with quality control.

They are the ones that helped to get me off the cigs. Their customer service was top notch back then.

I was at a bar last night with some friends and we were sitting outside so they could smoke. They ran out of cigarettes so they tried to buy some from the vending machine but it kept rejecting the dollar bills. After a few frustrating minutes, it finally gave up a pack. My friend turned to me and said "Ugh I've been thinking about switching to vaping. Think you could help me pick out something good that isn't too expensive or crappy?" I told her I knew exactly what she should get and showed her my mod with the Nautilus mini on it. She tried a vape on it and then immediately said "Ok.. let's do it right now. I want to order it! Where do I get one?" I referred her to the ebay site and she ordered a kit with the silver iStick and a Nautilus mini and some extra coils, cost only around $60ish for all of that including shipping. I told her I could hook her up with some juice until she figures out what she enjoys vaping then I could recommend her some sites. But I thought to myself... damn that is hell of a deal. If I only had access to this stuff when I started vaping, I'd probably be a thousand dollars or two richer lol. But yea... I'm so glad she wanted to switch! Hopefully the trend continues and she introduces other people to vaping. I think the main thing for a few of my female friends is the size of some mods are just too big and unappealing and ego batteries and cig-alikes are too weak and not enough battery life. Plus charging can be annoying if you need the ego adapter. People are nit picking about the power thing imo but for the price, you get a lot compared to how it was a few years ago. Honestly, I'm happy to unload some of my e-juice, they're just sitting there taking up space and I hate throwing stuff away.

I remember too- my first real ecig kit was a Riva from Liberty Flights. That's what got me to quit analogues. I've done the 808's from both Smokeless Image and Vapor4Life. I have 2 Zeus batteries from V4Life. I still use them a little bit every day, but they are more expensive than my MVP and my soon-to-be delivered IStick. The MVP and IStick have a lot more features than a Zeus. I am very thankful that the hardware just continues to advance. Hopefully, the feds don't put a stop to this free market economy we're enjoying! .

That is awesome....I have three gals from bowling that I've converted over time and they are all getting an Istick. Three have an MVP which is also a great mod..just bigger. One has struggled as the EGOs just don't have the battery life but the MVP was too big for her....I'm so excited because I think this is just the ticket......I'm loving mine

I honestly never really used my MVP that much. I bought one a long time ago, can't even remember how long ago but I guess around the time they were first available, and while I used it at home here and there, I never took it out with me due to the size. Plus it was really heavy and I was more insecure about vaping in public then and didn't really like when people act all surprised when they see me vape from it and be like "What the heck is that thing?? An e-cig?? Why is it so big?"

Back then, the iTaste VV3 was my favorite device and all I had other than that was a Twist, Spinner, and some old Ego batteries that I ALSO got from Liberty Flights. I had a Firefly kit too and I thought those were sooo cool with the color changing lights and option to make it a flashlight too. Fast forward, I got a Hana mini (clone) and have been using the hell out of it since I got it. I tried to get into mechs and bought 2 of them but I really don't use them much at all. I like the VV stuff and smaller the better. My purse is heavy as is and I don't need a giant brick. Honestly, one of the biggest selling points to me for mods is the ability to charge it through micro USB. I have one in each room in my house and one in my car, and literally almost everyone has one of these chargers and it makes it a lot easier to charge my mod.

It seems funny to me. Someone makes a nice affordable mod like this and it gets lots of gripes. $300 items no one gripes about their shortcomings, reverse polarity protection, buck circuitry, etc.
Amazing

They actually could have sold these for $120 + and people still would have bought them in their droves.
There will always be caveats with any device, it's still a very good deal for a mod like this.

so wheres the cheapest place to get this? I dont have an ebay account and honestly dont want one. I know vaperstek will have them in stock but it says box only? what does that mean?
smokeevolution.com and vaportek.com are supposed to have them in stock in a few weeks. You can preorder one (or more), but you'll have to wait a little longer to get yours. If you order it from the seller on Ebay that I got mine from......you should have it in a few days.
Think Box only is just the Mod no Charger or Adapter !

Yes. It would be just the iStick itself, and nothing else. You don't get the USB to micro USB charging cable, and you don't get the ego adapter either. If you use a tank like a Nautilus, AeroMega, ProTank, Kayfun etc. you won't need the adapter. If you use a tank/clearomizer that is ego threaded, then you would need the adapter. I use an AeroMega, so I didn't need the adapter, and I used my tablet's USB to micro USB charging cable and charged the iStick through my laptop. Took about 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 hours to charge a completely depleted battery.

PRICE WARS are still in effect!.......It's NOW $31.99 from NW on Ebay, for the iStick unit w/o charging cable or adapter. Got mine in 2 days after I placed my order with them!........and am REALLY liking my new iStick!:toast:

Get it on ebay if you don't want to wait and want the best price. Go make an account! Or... I dunno.. you may end up buying a lot more stuff off of ebay and spend all your moneys... but that's up to you.
