Yeah, I think the MVP had worse issues @ higher cost initially. Threads, post, loose USB connector and non-flush bottom wobble. VV-V3 now has rivets all over it, lol. Still good products.

eleaf seems to have focused more on aesthetics with this. The fit, finish, buttons and screen are very nice. Doesn't look like a PV.

3 Ohm carto give me lots of room on this for Hi-Lo Watts adjustments. Great vape.

I got my iStick 2 weeks ago and love it but I'm not sure I'm getting the battery life I should. I see others talking about a day and a half --two days and I don't get anywhere near that, I am a heavy vaper( about 7 ml a day) and I realize it's hard to compare charge times as some chain vape, some are light users and everywhere in between. Since I was planning on binge watching the final season of Boardwalk Empire today I thought I'd chain vape from a fully charged iStick until it ran out-- see what would end first--eight hours of the show or the iStick. At 5 hours in the iStick died.

I was using a Protank 2 with a rebuilt coil --1.2 ohms at about 10 watts. Do you guys think 5 hours is what I should expect on a charge with that setup or could my unit be defective?

This thing is great overall though. No thread problems as I decided to use the 510-ego adapter from the start and not take any chances (Protank with beauty ring looks great). Love the pass through ability and it is in a class by itself form factor wise IMO.

This has been roughly my experience too. I haven't kept real close tabs on battery life but this seems about what I get too. Dunno....still real happy with it. I have two back up batteries so no worries. Also vape it while charging if I am in a pinch.

How is it possible for the 510-ego adapter to affect the battery life?
Additional resistance introduced to the electrical circuit. Dirt/contamination on the contact surfaces (threads) also increases resistance. Everything you add to the circuit path increases resistance to some degree. I=E/R. The higher the resistance in the circuit the more voltage needed to push the desired current to the load (your topper).

    Thanks @geekmedic...
I was just passing along what I thought was a great deal. I picked up 2.

Jumped all over that myself, if my current one goes bad, i'll have a backup. I still plan to rebuild my mod box, but I am very happy with the Eleaf iStick, and at this price my project is on hold for awhile.

FYI; In the future I have found that it may be better to clearly tell everyone that the discount appears/applies once in the cart. I have found many sites that are like that. A quick look at a webpage, and the up front price without showing a discount applies, some will jump to conclusions.

Yes, human error can be the culprit. However, it does not explain the volume of identical issues with a particular model of device. A few here or there, that's one thing. But if it's widespread, there's a pattern. I'm not saying it's that, only it could be that. So whether or not it is human error or bad milling/machine work (Chinese manufacturing...go figure), there have been enough complaints by people who have not had the problem with other devices to warrant acknowledging the possibility of a manufacturing defect or poor materials. Talking down to people doesn't help them.

    Agreed.

I think it's important to recognize the manufacturer's culpability on this issue. One designs and produces a device for its target audience. We could argue that the alloy employed in the top cap is too soft and inappropriate for the iStick, its intended use and audience; especially knowing the flawed design of the 510 connection to begin with. Those of us who have had no problem with the threading have, perhaps, had similar problems with previous devices, like a VAMO or heard of others' problems and have remained careful. When we change a flat tire properly, do we worry whether Ford has designed the $1 lug/nut combination appropriately? I know that auto manufacturers over-spec little things like this knowing full well that non-mechanics/engineers will be performing the task. (I know, I know... that's why Triple-A was invented.)

I have yet to force a topper flush with my iStick. Upon initially examining it thoroughly, it was apparent that it's entire 510 connection was sub-par. I wrote as much in my first impressions. I'm hoping that my amazing little iStick lasts me six months or until a slightly better version from Eleaf or other manufacturer comes on the market. I realize that it's only a $35 device. But we need to insist that basics, like the 510 connection, are properly executed. We're literally only talking a <$1 difference to do it right.
