I don't get to stay on top of this thread like some of you can. It must get tiring answering the same questions and having the same arguments over and over. I realize there's over 600 pages to comb through... Maybe the blog entry can help people with the simple things or help them to ask more specific questions in the thread. That would leave the regulars more time to share their shenanigans with and without their iSticks. :toast:

Oh yes--it will.

You should try answering questions in the New Members forum. I've been doing it for years, on and off, to pay it forward, you know. But I don't feel like I can go on much longer.

This thread is a riot! :D

Hey Katya, great vape isn't it with the emow mega on the istick.

What coil configuration do you use in them? I rebuild to vertical micro with japanese cotton suits me well, what about you?

Stock configuration...

I read your tutorial--very creative--but the thought of having to rebuild the coil every time it needs to be rewicked is just too intimidating for me.... I'm hoping that Kanger's new BPDC coils will be easier to rebuild. If not, I may reconsider, or just get a Kayfun--it has a nice big deck and the coils can be dry-burned and rewicked.

Oy....

You can build the coil without the cotton wrapped around it, I just do it for convenience and it only takes an extra minute or two build the coil. If you build it without the cotton then place in the cup and put gromet and pin back in you can pack the cotton around the coil making sure you do pack it in nice and tight.

Obviously you just have to be careful that the top leg does not hit the side of the coil and cause a short. Then when you want to re-wick you can remove the old cotton, dry burn the coil and re wick.

You're a brave woman!

I'm OK with stock coils for now--maybe I'm not all that particular. As long as I have vapor and a little flavor I'm happy. I'm also pretty sure that sooneer or later Kanger will offer a vertical coil--they invented it, years ago... ;)

In one post I'm told to ask questions, then it seems to new members they are hesitant because they feel like a charity case. Aww look they are new isn't that so cute, it's ok it's not rocket science.
Coming up on finals I don't have time right now to wade through info, which is what I normally do. In two weeks I can build for the hell of it and troubleshoot myself.
Don't want to get my info from a B&M or the media now would I? Because if I don't get it here then I could be misinformed, isn't the goal to put proper info out and make people comfortable asking the right people? If you don't want to answer than don't, no ones forcing someone else.
Thanks to all who answered my question-
This is what I have and how do I get by in the meantime.
Buying smokes is easier and if people don't feel comfortable or feel overwhelmed, taking their hand prevents one more sale to big tobacco, which would be a collective goal of CASAA? Correct? Or is it to be informed? To which treating new members anything less than just new would defeat the purpose of the mission. As frustrated as you all are answering repeat questions so are the newbie's wading through a million blogs/video's please remember we don't do it on purpose. Most of us have mastered many other things outside of this forum.

Great points, BraveNewWorld. I hope you figured out your issues. If not, ask away and we'll try to help.

I think a lot of the angst around here is a new poster's experience level is not always apparent and often feels insulted when treated like a new vapor. Our intent is not to insult. But a lot of the issues we've seen in this thread are not exactly iStick related; e.g. juice feeding/wicking issues, inconsistent head quality from the clearomizer manufacturers, etc. The iStick is just particularly good at pointing out (or maybe less forgiving of) the other problems vapers experience with their atomizers.

All of us in this thread are very willing to be helpful to all who ask for it. But it gets tiring sometimes when people start to argue or become less than friendly. We only know what's worked for us. We don't design, manufacture, market and sell the iStick. And it's not ALWAYS the iStick's fault...

Good luck on your finals!

Cheers. :)

Well, I do believe my original IStick finally bit the dust. I do have a second one that is fine so far. My first one got damaged at the beach by a little bit of sand getting in it. For the last week, the only topper that would thread and fire on it was my Aerotank Mega. Now it will thread, but it won't read the atomizer-0.0 is not good. Much as I would like to order a new one today or run to a B+M, I am going to wait and see if there are any good Black Friday sales next week. That's my advice to newbies. Most vendors will have good sales next week. Unless you are desperate for something this week, wait for the sales!

Does anyone think a iStick v2 will be out this side of christmas ??

Just wondering if I can add the v2 to my letter to santa :D

Wouldn't THAT be nice?!? I highly doubt it, unfortunately. The v1 is selling far too well. The bean-counters in China will let it stand until it's played out.

Right now, I'm running a BVC Mini Naut on one iStick, set to 9 Eleaf watts, and a BVC clearo on the other, set to 8 Eleaf watts. Both could perform well at considerably higher settings---and many people do this---but I'm very satisfied with the vape quality I get right where they are now, which maximizes the run time of the iStick's 2200 mAh battery.

Love my Nautilus BVC's on the iStick.

Are you finding the Non-Nautilus BVC's (in Aspire clearomizers) to give a similar vape?

It works on "MEAN" not RMS, so you have a mule style kick at first going down, with your battery's charge, to a hamster stlyle kick...

Unless you spend all your time change the out put, which to me sounds a hassle.

So I've decided to pass on this one.

I'm looking at other, more pricey, less attractive, or at least less unusual, Mods...tubes.

Yea...it's such a "hassle" to have to occasionally press the iStick's Up or Down button.

But sounds like you've found the perfect "solution". Instead of the $30 iStick...just get a $250 ProThingy!!!

Ha Ha, Sorry, I skipped over my love for my 2 perfectly functioning isticks, to my new 1600mah, VV, juice fed, 1.5 ohm, all in one, Egrip. I love 'em all.

A long (LONG) time ago...before computers and color TV's...people were really into their AUDIO gear.

The "debate" was always whether to get an "all-in-one" Receiver...or...get a separate Tuner and Amplifier.

A Receiver took up less space. But you had to make "compromises" with it's Tuner and/or Amp specifications. And...if it "broke" you were stuck with NO music until you could rectify the problem.

With a Tuner + Amplifier you needed (a little) more space. But you could get the exact Tuner & Amp to suit your purposes. And...when one or the other "broke" you could still get some music while rectifying the problem.
