I have it plugged in right now using the iphone wall adapter, after googling and seeing that several people at least claim to have done it with no bad results. I did not run it all the way down when I first took it out of the package, so too late for that I guess. I assumed it was like my MVP, which I was told at the shop I bought it at to "charge early and often" though I see from going through this thread that that is slightly contested advice. I've been doing it with my MVP for a month or so, and it seems fine, but I guess it will depend on the overall longevity of the device in the end.

Other than the Orchid tank, all I have is a Spartan that spits and pops juice in my mouth, and a nautilus that sometimes still gurgles and has coils that sometimes taste like death. And a mini protank 3, but no coils for that one. So right now I've got the spartan on my MVP while waiting on the istick to charge, and I guess I will toss that in my bag tomorrow just in case the istick poops out on me and see how it goes. Thanks all!

I simply plug them into the 5v usb port on the alarm clock I picked up at a local Walmart that also has a pair of ac outlets with an on/off switch I plug a Nitecore 4 bay charger into and see everything charged up as well as the cell phone using the same usb port. A usb port on a laptop or desktop even tablet is 3.3v and will take a bit longer for the lower voltage seen there. So far unlike trying to charge a cell on a usb hub meant for pc use and seeing two out of four ports made DOA I haven't run into one problem using the 5v standard port also seen on ac wall plugins used to add additional outlets .

The charge early and often is still good advice, even on this device, or any device that uses a li-ion battery. It's far harder on these batteries when you drain them all the way, and if drained completely it kills the battery (you don't have to worry about that, these devices shut off before that happens). The reason people used to day you needed to fully cycle the battery before charging was because ni-cad batteries would develop a "memory" so if you only used 30% of the battery before charging, eventually that 30% would become the useable amount. That isn't the case with li-ion, their chemistry doesn't have the memory issues. Their biggest killer is heat. Which is why you need to watch what amperage you charge them at. Most experts suggest .5 amp/500mah as the safest rate of charge, never over 1 amp/1000mah.
All batteries have a "life span" based on the number of charge cycles (drain then charge.......) a full cycle is from full battery to empty and unit shuts off to fully charged again. Each charge doesn't count as one cycle, but only the amount of the battery used. When you charge early, say when the battery is at 75% capacity, you have only used a quarter of a cycle, so if you do that 4 times, you have then used one cycle.

Hope that answers why they told you to charge early and often, and why you should continue that practice even on the istick.
Oh, I personally use an 800mah charger for my unit, it is a nice in between, faster charge rate then a 500 mah, but less heat produced then a 1amp

And you all thought the Istick was small

[h=1]Eleaf iStick Mini - 10 watt[/h]The eleaf iStick mini is a 10 watt version of the original iStick by iSmoka Eleaf. It will be a perfect on go vapor device with a battery capacity of 1100mah . Unlike the the original full size istick the device it will have round OLED display on the top , just next to it 510 connector, which will display all the parameters. It is going to be a great stealth device, small enough to completely fit on palm. Order eleaf istick mini.

That doesn't always work. I have batteries still sitting here that were often recharged before they got down where the led flashed time to recharge and one didn't last a full two weeks. The other lasted 8 months approzimately. Cell phone batteries as well as some others like rechargeable razors and other devices are obviously notorious for "remembering things"! But trying to recharge any battery at 1/4 use of the full battery never insures the battery will last any longer. Battery go when the material inside them is defeated where no longer able to hold a working charge.

No thank you on the mini! The regular size is small enough with a heavy enough battery to do the job! When you use a battery at 10w while it can go out to 20w you save on wear and tear. But when maxing a 10w to get the 10w out of it that stresses the battery and ends shortening the life span as the end result over a period of time.

Only $29.99 since it is out now! I ran into the same vendor last week when this was first mentioned as well as running across another Bing reference when needing to look up the lowest price again for the regular model. https://originvape.com/product/eleaf-istick-mini/ No longer on Pre[order status there!

IStick mini? Not for more than $15! I consider it a novelty item.

I don't think so. A lot of people say they can go all day on a 1000 mah Twist. I can't. Trog's keyring thing was what I consider a novelty device.
This with a bending adapter looks great for someone who is not a chain vapor. I like small.

 here we go again :D

Every time, without fail, I tell myself, I just don't need anymore vapegear, it always happens, something new comes out. Personally for me, this will do nicely with an Erlkonigin Nano on this, grab & go, for those unexpected trips to the store, not going to be an all day device, I have plenty of those, something small, and light, doesn't take much space.

If the Istick battery life is any indication this should be good for most of the day, if not all.

I don't know if this is of any interest to anyone but this is something that happened recently.

I bought a bunch of Protank 2s and 3s because I got a really good deal on them. I've only opened one so far, a Protank 2.

I put it on one of my iSticks with the iStick's Ego adapter and beauty ring and got a 0.0 reading. Took the adapter and ring off, screwed it directly on the iStick, same reading.

I put the Protank 2 on an Ego battery, won't fire.

I put it on my MVP, works fine.

I can see that the center pin on the Protank 2 looks a bit short of the bottom so that's probably the problem.

Yesterday I put an Ego adapter that I bought a long time ago from Madvapes on the iStick and tried the Protank 2 again. Works great even with the beauty ring. In fact the Protank 2 sits above the beauty ring slightly.

So, if anyone has had a similar problem, try switching the Ego adapter that comes with the iStick for a different one.

I doubt that I will buy one. The full sized one is almost too small for my hands. Then again, it might be nice to have one with the bending adapter in my jeans pocket at work to stealth vape in the restroom, hmmm.

Anyone know what topper is shown in the pic?
