Judging by the photos, this is definitely different from the original istick. The top and bottom caps have been changed. It looks like there are chromed rings around the ends of the extruded enclosure that the caps fit into. The top cap slopes up to a 22-23mm landing pad that flairs out from the enclosure. It's difficult to tell by these photos. But it looks like the top cap has been drilled and a 510 connection press-fitted. The extra height is more than sufficient to incorporate an adjustable pin. But it doesn't appear to be screw adjustable. (Spring loaded?) I'm not sure that I trust the stats on this page however. It is still listed as being 75mm tall. Unless eleaf shortened the enclosure (easily done with extruded aluminum) to make up for the additional height of the top cap, it is more than 75mm tall.

It is stated as still being a 3-5.5V device. If this is indeed the case, the amperage limit would have had to be increased to reach 30W (and then only at 1Ω @ 5.5V pulling 5.5A). Anything lower than 1Ω would need much higher than 5.5A to reach 30W. In any case, a new firmware would have had to have been written. So there's hope that it's tuned to RMS. It would be a solid 20+W device from 1-1.5Ω.

There are so many unknown variables here. IF Eleaf has fixed the tuning, 510 & QC/build quality; this "30W" iStick is simply what the original should have been all along: a sub $30, darned-near perfect 20W APV that's ideal for 75+% of today's vapers. Even low wattage vapers would love it!

Definitely getting more interesting. The competitions are piling some pressure on eLeaf, and I really look forward to any improvements. I believe 2015 will begin with some good box mods being introduced.

I don't understand the fascination with this device. Reviews point to a flimsy 510 connector and poor regulation. When they first came out, I also thought it was a nice size for pocketability, but not for the trade-offs.

I sincerely hope that iStick mini 10W will do better on the regulation front, considering the tiny battery and smaller power range.

No offense to those with intellectual disabilities either, I guess?

Sorry if i offended anyone with that comment i made. I am in a lot of pan and very tired , also i have a mental condition which prevents me from having a filter on what i say. Sometimes i slip up. So no offence meant to anyone.

I'd try one of those 30 watt iSticks. I was thinking about getting a backup for my iStick, but I'll hold off for now. Lemo Drop might be a good fit with the new design.

I ordered a couple of Kanger Aero Tank Mini bases to see what they do for my Mini Protank 2s anyway. They were on sale at sun-vapers for $3/ea. so I got a couple. They're still on sale if anyone is interested. (I feel like such an old-timer when I mention MPT2s - and I've only been vaping for a little over a year!)

@aldenf: From what I saw in some of the linked posts re: the Erlk, it seems like you can't let it sit for long periods without it leaking out of the air hole. Is that true?

The best thing you can do to your PT coils is to rebuild them (and add AFC bases). There are many good tutorials here and on the Tube:

Other that that, you can only expect so much from those tiny stock coils.

Not Aldenf but my experience....

Not really any side holes in the Erl, and if it is built right, it doesn't leak at all, if it sits around, or not. My favorite RTA right now, and I've tried most of them..

I'm not buying anything until the MVP 3 is unveiled. Apparently it's supposed to happen in January... Don't quote me.

Quoted. Too late :p

It's on the bottom and when it does leak, it goes straight into the 510 and it's a mess.

I use mine daily, and they never leak, don't build it properly, or have a tank seal issue, and yes it leaks, the Yilong clone I have needed a few mods to get it to run properly, it is built pretty well, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. couple of experimental builds leaked a bit, but wick it properly, and it just works.

Quite a few people do have issues with them, but it is simply user error, or a sealing issue.

I will add, the Nano seems less build dependent then the others, definitely my favorite of the bunch. I've done some pretty lazy builds on it, and have had no issues at all.

I only been using my istick for a couple weeks and noticed it reads that my atty either has a short , not enough ohms, or no atty at all alot, im using mostly kanger aerotanks or kayfuns, any fixes for this besides screwing and unscrewing my attys

try raising the center pin a bit - carefully ;)

You have connectivity issues. :D

Do not screw and unscrew your atties--and do not over tighten. You can get Eleaf's bendable adapter with a floating 510 pin, or get some circuit board spacers from MadVapes, or try to pull the pin up--just a hair; it's all been described here, somewhere, or check aldenf's blog...

GTG. Have fun, my fellow iStickers. :)
