So has anyone with the 30W formed an opinion on how well the power regulation works on low settings? I definitely don't need higher wattage. The reason I quit using the 20W was because of the complete inability to get it to work at low wattage without scorching things. I might be willing to try the 30W if the power management at low levels has actually improved.

Well, it seems to me from my crude measurements that the 30W is displaying V_rms and calculating wattage based on V_rms rather than V_avg. That is a huge improvement!

I haven't looked at how well it maintains regulation as the battery's charge drops. That is the benchmark of good voltage regulation.

I ran my battery down the other day to test it. The symbol was blank. It performed the same up to the end and suddenly the power dropped. It didn't shut off, just had a big power drop. I didn't want to push it any further, decided to charge it at that point. Instantly worked fine with the pass through. It gave me a little concern because it didn't shut down, but at least I had a warning. Anybody else have this happen?

Edit: Ran the battery down again and this time it quit and reads lock on the screen so no worries.

Obnoxious? No way. It's quite the little charmer, actually. If anything is obnoxious about it, it's the color blindness of the manufacturers. I'm giving in and just calling it Chinese Red.

I don't have an o-scope. I used an in-line voltage meter. It reads the same voltage (under a load) as the display.

RMS (V_rms=sqrt(dutycycle)*V_max) provides an accurate equivalent of DC on a pulsed current. The mean average voltage (V_avg=dutycycle*V_max) does not.

I vape with mine on pass through all the time it's chargin. There has never been a report of a problem with pass throughs to my knowledge. Been doin it a year with V3's.That's what it's for ............paranoia

Seriously though, it's nothing magic to have pass-through, no super special technology or anything like that... it's basically just a lack of blocking it from working and using a $0.10 charging IC that wont fry on the occasion you try to pull more current than it can supply if your battery is actually dead. Other than stand alone passthrough devices, I haven't seen one yet where the charge IC can supply the entire passthrough current. I haven't read the entire thread, did someone check the current draw on any of these iSticks to see if they are actually pulling enough current through the charge-port to bypass the battery or is the charger just supplementing the battery?
