I recently tried twisting some wire, very thin gauge so as not to venture into sub-ohm. It's fairly simple and the twisted wire makes coiling easier, takes the springiness out of it and the coils just stay where you wrap them, without compressing or torching.

I'd found a video on YouTube this week where a guy takes a pen with a pocket clip on it and twists his wire. Decided to try it today. Started with 30g (I have a small stash of 32 I'll be doing this with for sure!) Wrapped 5 spaced turns on a 1/8" drill bit and hit about 1.1 ohm. Threw it on an rda and popped it on top my 50. VERY thrilled.

So, Katya, if I can do this - I know YOU can :)

As I sit here in grading hell, I am struck by how much I enjoy my istick 30s, and how I am using them more than my 20s even though the 20s have my favorite juices in them.

I just feel like the vape is cleaner & smoother.

Don't get me wrong, I've loved my 20s since I got them ("way" back in what was it September/October?), but when they need replacing I will not get an "Earl" or another, but will get another 30.

That is all. Back to grading hell! [emoji20][emoji26]

Smart woman. My pink Earl arrived on Jan 30th. He outgassed on Feb 17th. Thanks to this thread when I saw "vapor" coming out the USB port I knew what was happening. iStick 30w should be here Monday.

Hope the gradiing is finished so you can have an enjoyable Sunday.

I know this is probably not the place to be asking this but you guys are such an awesome bunch I thought I would ask anyway! I figured since I would be using my istick 30 with it, I could ask here. I would like to get a throw away dripping atomizer (is that's what it is called?) so I can taste my juices before I commit them to my tank. I found what I think it is I want at a super price. Is this it? Joye 510 or Joye eGo electronic cigarette replacement atomizers

I think it would work. I use a bridged (whatever that means) 510 dripping atomizer to taste juice. That's what I saw on this forum over a year ago so that's what I got. When I put that into google just now the picture that accompanies the link you posted came up, so it seems like the right thing.

Yep. I saw a few youtube videos of juice reviewers using them to try out different juices. I just wasn't sure if what I linked was that lol

I too just Googled it...I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_28uW1CvR3c

What type of wick do they have?....I didn't study this much yet....but this guy is saying the TH is astronomical.

These are especially good for sampling/dripping. You take the cartridge off and replace it with a drip tip (510 style)

Acrylic colored ribbon design 510/901 drip tips

The Joye 510 attys are esp. good because they have metal mesh at the base beneath the bridge around the ceramic pot that holds the coil. That keeps eliquid close to the coil. Other 510 attys sometimes have only a 'washer-like' base with no mesh and dry hits are possible.

The one thing to know is that if you use a strong flavor like menthol, cherry or cinnamon, it will be hard to get rid of it, so having a few different ones is a good idea. I find coffee flavor can clean up some of the stronger flavors but not hang around itself. Also having some plain VG (diluted with H2O 80:20) or PG is another good way to clear flavors from the coil (unless it is menthol, then that won't work).

When dripping keep the coil wet. As soon as you notice a drop in flavor is when to add a few more drops. The Joye atty with the mesh can take about 4-5 drops without flooding. And sometimes these coils can have a primer when first using - suggest again, plain VG/PG and only puff don't inhale when breaking one in. A few puffs should do it.

I've been usin 510 bridgeless atomizers for testin juices since I started diy. Pure flavor is all you're gonna get since there is no wick. I always carry one to a B&M to test their juice since most juice bars use cheap clearos that have been dry hit and flooded, etc. I have vaped all day with em. I recommend Joyetech cause some of em burn out quick and easy, others have lasted me weeks.

Pay attention to this part. As soon as the flavor drops stop and drip. You can easily lose focus and get a most horrible throat and nose burnin dry hit. But as long as you keep a count of the hits you take and the drops you make, you're ok. A little practice is all it takes but still....:)

Those are old-school Joyetech 510 atomizers, from back in the days of carts and blue foam. Generally, they come in two resistances, standard 2.3 ohm 510SR or "low resistance" 1.5 ohm 510LR. Yes, they're "disposable," and no, they don't hold much eliquid---only 5-8 drops---but they give good, true flavor on low-wattage/low-amp batteries (eGos, Twists/Spinners, etc.). Many vapers (including me) use them to test new juices. Switching juices without flavor contamination is a snap, since you can blow out the remaining liquid into a kleenex. The higher-end versions of these atties (HH357, Cisco Spec, Empire Mods, IKV, Vapage Slant Hybrid, bridged or bridgeless, plus all the various 306s---including IKV i06s) are still popular, but even the modest Joyetech 510s perform nicely. I have about 80 of those stashed away in the unlikely event of the Vapocalypse.

Here's a long and active ECF thread about them:

The 510 Atty you link to is designed to be used with cartridges. You want a bridgeless atomizer like the legendary Cisco Spec HH.357

Atomizers - HH.357 Cisco Spec Hybrid Atomizers - Avid Vaper

The HH.357s are stupid expensive, when good alternatives exist, like Kidney Puncher's long barrels.

Atomizers - Kidney Puncher

I went through many Bridgeless 510s tasting juice. Then I picked up a mini RDA and never looked back. If you're not opposed to rebuilding, RDAs like the SMOK RDA ($3 on sale) or an IGO L ($5.36). Both are superb for juice tasting and super easy to build.

Smoktech Rebuidable Dripping Atomizer (RDA) Chrome [smok-rda-chr] - $3.00 : Beyond Vape, Premium Vaporizers and E-Cigarettes

$5.36 IGO-L Rebuildable Stainless Steel Dripping Atomizer - double heating wires / 1.6ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Good luck! :vapor:

Most of the bridgless 510s are either wickless or wicked with silica. the coil/wick sits in a ceramic cup that you drip 3-5 drops of liquid in to vape.
