First, thanks to all of you here. I'd heard of the istick, so I began reading this mega-thread, thinking I'd learn a little before ordering a 20w. That's how I learned about the 30w, the differnces between models, etc. Have had two 30s for nearly two months now. Both work nicely, especially with GS Airs sitting on them.
I'm enjoying vaping more than I ever did with Spinners, Twists, and five or six varieties of Kanger tanks.
All that said, here's a question: One of the 30s usually lasts me two days or more between charges. Lately, the other one needs charging after only a day of use. Both perform well, with no strange Bike-like symptoms, but one runs out of electrons twice as fast. Everything else is identical, including juice, coils, tanks. Has anyone else experienced this? Not really a problem, just strange.
Bikenstein, Sorry if I came off a bit short in my previous post but I was a bit freaked out. I took your suggestion and pulled the unit apart real quick. There was a bit of residual juice around the base of the 510. I hit it with a quick spray of CRC Lectra-Motive followed by a blast fro a can of liquid air and buttoned it back up. I've put the Cyclone atty back on it that was on it and that I use for juice tasting and it seems to be O.K although I'm going to keep an eye on it for a while just in case.
First day in a while I haven't had tanks on the 50's, guess we cannot trust them.
Think tomorrow I'll pour some juice on the 510 pin, then gut it later in the day to see where the juice goes to.....
Need to see if I have tools to get those screws out first though.
Me too maybe. I'm not going to buy more tools tho. I'm going to use an eyeglass slotted screwdriver driven in with a hammer. Then I'm going to put a vise-grips on it for additional twisting force.
That's all worth like 5 whole points on my ManCard.![]()
Would be interesting to see if it is juice leaking in and dripping onto the control circuit. I can see some RTV Silicone sealing off the 510 connection.
I was wondering how juice would get into the 510 connector except by using an atty that pulls air through the 510. Does anyone really use one of these on a 50W?
I hate anything leaking that is not supposed to... I had pondered the sub tank mini once and I am glad I didn't pick one up.Troll, all the kanger sub tanks I have will leak if the juice gets low, they leak through the air intake....how?...I have no idea......![]()
r77r7r your decision of course is up to yourself!
But these torx bit tools are very cheap and DO NOT DAMAGE the fastener head
what you are suggesting doing certainly does
That IS very cool! It was built in the late 70's in Pennsylvania. It is pretty sick! I love anything transparent, glass, mirrors, white, or silver like things!!That is one cool looking guitar in your avatar!
Never seen a clear plexiglass body - ha!

That and the juice/air bubbles between the glass and the frame would drive me crazy...![]()
