This was discussed in another thread. According to EleafUS, it uses PWM. Even so it is the smoothest PWM vape that I have ever had. Sorry that it does not work well for you. I was waiting for someone to say that it was not the perfect mod for them. It was bound to happen. I seriously doubt that you are going to get a unit that steps down voltage in this price range so I would not hold my breath waiting for a R2 of these if that is what you are looking for. JMHO

All VV/VW mods use pulse width modulation, even the likes of the Provari.
It's only an issue when the frequency of PWM in low (like the 33.3hz of the Vamo) if it's high frequency then you don't get the 'rattlesnake' effect and you get a cleaner vape.

It might be the sx330 chip. PBusardo's review of the ipv2 showed the voltage put out was higher than the reading on that mod as well. Also no step down.

Not the case with the Istick though.

Using my 2-in-1 Ohm and Voltage meter I picked up from MyVaporStore ($19.95) awhile back I ran some tests on the accuracy of the metering system in the iStick. Using a 1.6-ohm coil in the Nautilus Mini and a 1.8-ohm in the Aerotank the iStick read them exactly the same as the meter, which was enough to convince me that the electronics in the iStick were solid quality and accurate.

I think that you may have that backwards ?

Seeing the output on an O-scope at the full range of wattage settings, and full range of voltage settings with various coil resistance will go a long way to proper evaluation of these PVs.

The frequency of the PWM is less important than how well the output waveform is smoothed and filtered. Units like the MPV and Provari use PWM and the initial waveforms from the chips are as ragged as any low price knock off. It's the design of the circuits that act on the chip's output and how well it's smoothed and filtered that makes a difference. A difference in frequency will simply mean the required circuity will have different components assuming it is designed properly. Frequency has nothing to do with how smooth a waveform might be.

If a voltage is smooth, it means the frequency is zero, as low as you can go.

I have not timed it but need to. I think it may take about 2 hours though. Do you have a 1amp wall wart?

Right now, I'm using the USB cord that came with an Asus tablet. It's plugged into my laptop right now, and it's been charging for just a little more than an hour and a half. The battery indicator is BLINKING.....so it looks like it's charging......(I think....).

Yep, it blinks while charging. may take a little longer but it should charge it. You may want to get a wall wart.

-I ordered from them, and I received an ego adapter, but no cable. Maybe it's a hit or miss thing.

I contacted the Seller and he told me that on the Second Batch, he would Include the EGo adapter as an Option.

Maybe he is into the Second Batch already?

Anyone know what board these use? Looks like an SX330??

No. The Board does Not Look anything like a SX330. Looks like it was Built to Specs to go inside an iStick Body.

Hence the Incredibly Small Form Factor of the Unit. There is No Wasted Space inside.

For me, any setting below 4.2 volts on a freshly charged battery vapes the same. I expected a cool, low vapor vape at 3.0 volts, but it still produces heavy vapor, and a hot vape even at a setting of 3.0 volts. I haven't set it for watts, but it should be the same since the only thing it's actually changing is the volts applied.

IMHO, the iStick doesn't drop voltage below whatever the battery voltage is at any given time. Step up voltage, yes. Step down voltage, no.

Can you notice a cooler vape at the 3.0 volt displayed, as opposed to a 4.2 volt displayed on a freshly charged battery?

I compared vapes between my Sigelei 20 w with a fresh battery and the Istick at identical settings: 6W/3v. I can't tell there is ANY difference. Same tank, Same vape.

I thought the price was a couple dollars cheaper this morning. Pays to wait. I was going to order a couple but you know how devices are and v2 will be out before you know it and be a must have item.

Jay G

agreed! If not a V2 of these, there will be something else.
