I know that there are many here who are defending the istick. Please understand, I am not writing that it is a bad device, and am NOT attcking it. Not at all. Other than the voltage thing, I love mine!

I just think it's important that low wattage vapers are aware of the limitation. And it IS a limitation.

YMMV

I'm not Defending the iStick.

I would just like to See the Actual Output Numbers.

Hey Zoid, I didn't think you were!!!

BTW, for the record, I currently vape with:

An MVP (my second -> first had button fall off, this one is dying)
2 Innokin VV V3
eVic version 1 with silver and black 650 and 350 tubes (four configurations)
Innokin VTR
2 Evod 650 Mah 3.7 regulated (and they really are)
2 Ryder 350 mAh shorties (they are marketed as 450 mAh but really aren't)

I run everything with Kanger clearos using 2.5 ohm coils, but I also have two Iclear 30b with 2.0 ohm coils (actually are 2.2 ohm), but I use those rarely.

I swap out between more than a dozen flavors daily when out, but use the MVP with Coumarin pipe flavor (MBV) almost every night. Therefore, it sees the most use, and is close to death (the MVP). The istick (I bought two), would have been the perfect replacement, and easier to just grab off the coffee table when I headed out the door.

Maybe I'll just look for some 3.0 ohm coils, and run at 4.2 volts on the isticks..... That will get me closer on a fresh battery....

I fall into this camp. I'll stick with the MVP and VV3's for now. Strange how these relatively inexpensive devices can step down and the iStick can't. I'll wait for numbers but I'm not holding my breath that Busardo will get to this one quickly.

And I'm guessing us low voltage vapers are in the minority which is why this thing gets such glowing reviews. All I want to do is chain vape for a month on a single charge. :D

I think Phil Busardo is needed on this puppy. He has the technology to address what this thing is actually doing.

Anyone know him? Maybe prod him to analyze this thing?

Salemgold, what voltage shows on your istick at 5 watts on the BDC?

I think a BIG clue to my burnt taste is the Kanger coils. If the coils could handle more power, I wouldn't get the burnt taste.

BUT, I should be able to step down voltage on the istick if Innokin can do it with the MVP and VV V3.

Kanger coils always ran hot for me but that doesn't explain the difference in the same volts/watts on each device giving you different temps. I do notice a difference from the iStick to the MVP with a 2.0 ohm coil at the same wattage as well, but it doesn't taste burnt. I am using cartotanks, though.

Unfortunately, I think the 2.5 ohm are the highest resistance coils available right now from Kanger.

Anyone know who sells 3.0 ohm Kanger coils?

I can't fathom the reasoning behind this. I can make a 350 mAh battery last from when I get up, all the way through work until I get home. It just barely makes it, and a 450 mAh is perfect. Long duration vaping!!!! (I have to go outside with the smokers, so I'm NOT chain vaping).

Some days I chain vape up to 5mls. Other days it's only 3mls.

MVP2 @2600mah will go almost 2 full days for me with heavy vaping (1300 clicks). I'm generally at 2.4 ohms and 3.3 volts. It's 6 months old now and I really like it but it digs into my hands towards the end of the day because it's just too boxy. Still the best $35 I ever spent on vaping gear.

Can't get a full day out of a VV3 but it's only 800mah. I tend to tether them to my car's USB in pass-through mode whenever I can.

I'd be tempted to get this 2200mah iStick thing because it just looks a lot more comfortable and "pocketable" than the MVP. I'd use it with a Nautilus Mini but It sounds like those 1.8ohm BVC's I use would be too low. (They even fire a tad too hot at 3.3v for me).

My experience suggests that it would fire WAY too hot on a fresh battery. It's a shame really, since the form factor, and battery life would be perfect for you.

The 800 mAh duration dilemma hits me with my eVic in shorty mode, and my VV3s....

This little istick would have been perfect. Oh well, it IS perfect for higher wattage vapers.

Dear God. Just want to put a tank on and vape. Watts and ohms and volts and coils ... oh my!!! I don't like a hot vape and my preferred coils (Nautilus BVC 1.8) don't come over 2 ohms at present. Don't know what all of this means. I need a drink!

See? This is me as well. I vape rather than smoke. When I smoked it was simple, buy the same brand, style, and size. Don't crush them or get them wet. Have BICs everywhere - and smoke. K - that's how I want to vape. Now, ya, I am/will doin a bit more work to vape - but then I also get to vape in the house with my wife around me (real plus there) - but none the less, I like my Silo, and my 1.8 BVC heads (can't find any higher ohm) - and I just want a simple 6-8 watt vape for flavor and a bit of white smoke.

Is that too much to ask for???

I have the Silo and nautMini with the BVC heads and this battery is working great. Is the vape too warm around 4Volts? I prefer mine closer to 5V (~14W on BVC 1.6).

It seems funny to me. Someone makes a nice affordable mod like this and it gets lots of gripes. $300 items no one gripes about their shortcomings, reverse polarity protection, buck circuitry, etc.
Amazing

My "gripe" is they "Said" one thing, but the device is *not* doing what they "SAID" it would do. Does that not make sense to you? It's that simple. Yes, all of you are correct about the price and all of the good things it does.

But some of us like LOW power vaping, and we were told this offered it, and it seems to NOT being doing that (I do not have mine yet, so my ranting is based off others' findings).

Pcrdude I am looking for something like you want.Mine is coming in the mail today and I bought a Nautilus mini to go with it.From Peraspera chart Pg.42 (414) I will have to start vaping higher then I'm use too_Oh well.Has anybody seen the video on you tube on the Nautilus mini by Rip Trippers.About what is like sand particles in the ceramic coil.I am a little worried about using this after seeing his video.I didn,t even get them yet.Is the mvp 2 button hard to press?I am a chain vapor.

Mine just lost charge but as soon as it charges up, I am going to compare to that chart. I am not convinced that it is accurate.

A low power vaper may want to consider using higher resistance coils. That is kind of contradicting IMO :)

LR produces more heat so why would a person want to use LR if they prefer a cooler vape? Not being argumentitive but, I would hate to see a person turned off to the iStick that may really enjoy it based on a handful of people that do not care for them out of the 100s and possibly thousands that love these.

Every device will have a few people that do not like it. JMHO

I can not find any Aspire BVC coils with a higher ohm rating than 1.8 available to buy. That's *my* point. It would be a simple answer to simply use 2.4ohm coils/heads - but not if you can't get them (And no, I can't rebuild due to having bad hands).

It is for *me*. I vape the same juice all the time (shades of vanilla 65PG/35VG) and just want the same vape in the morning that I get at night. Yes, I own higher-end devices, that's not the point. The small size, and ease of use but yet no buck circuit?? The point that has me stamping my feet that others seem to be either ignoring or being snide (un-needed) about, is they are *lying* on their SPECs - people keep copying the "3 volt" which is showing to be untrue. There lies my problem.

That is my only issue with my MVP2. I have 'OA' badly in both hands. And the way the button is on the MVP2 makes it painful for me to use throughout the day - even when changing hands or positions. It IS a wonderful device! But the button press does me in. I *LOVE* my VV3.0 other than the fact it doesn't have enough juice to get me through my day.

I just picked mine up from the Post Office and vaped it all the way home.

Took the Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus clone with a 1.6 ohm micro coil off the full sized ProVari, set the istick at 3.6 volts.

Vapes like a champ, fits in my pocket much better than even my ProVari Mini (especially weight wise). I like the size and form factor much better than the MVP or the Mini. It doesn't have the janky silicone 510 insulator that the Vamo and the MVP have, so that's a plus right there. It looks good, and was cheap enough that if I destroy it carrying it around I won't be heartbroken.

I spent more on beauty rings and Hippo caps trying to make my ProVaris look decent with a Kayfun on them than I spent on this istick, sure it won't last as long, but so far it's giving me a great vape.
