Well, it may be terribly old fashioned of me, but I do expect any product to perform at the levels the manufacturer says they will. I really, really want one of these but I run my MVPs and VV v3s at 6 W most of the time, so it sounds like this will not work for me even though eleaf says that it should.

Depends on your coils. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. If you're running 6w with 2 ohm coils, run it at 4w or 4.5w on the istick and you should get the same or better vape than 6w on the MVP or VVv3. I usually run my Kayfun with a 1.8ohm coil at 8-9w on my MVP or Vamo V5 but run at 6.5w on the istick. I think the istick is a much better device than my MVP. I haven't touched my MVP since I got the istick. Hate the name, love the product.

That's sick KTMRider. Is that a Jwrap? If so, how tough are those things to put on? I feel like I'd mess it up somehow.

And thanks for the update guys. My #2 in Blue has been ordered from VapeNW.

It's DiNoc from 3m. There was a post on the MVP forum to get up to 10 free samples (8x10 sheets).

I don't know what is hardest part about this forum trying to understand the numbers or trying to keep up with all the posts LOL

Yes :p

I think some people are really gettin hung up on the RMS issue and writing dissertations like their applying for their doctorate degree. It's a $35 mod for cryin out loud! OK - low voltage vapers are gettin Hot Hits and they don't like that. I get it. However, I still think that the majority of average vapers would love this! I know I do! :2c:

Yeah! I confess!

I'm getting hung up....

... oh! Your phrasal verbs confuse us, but anyway I try to stay in tune.....:)

Let me explain why..... Here the iStick, in its basic kit (mod & adaptor) costs 36 €, which is cheaper than most VW Chinese mods, but not ludicrously cheaper. Some VAMO and Sigelei on the 15W range are about 40 to 45 € tops, and if you search hard enough, you can get them even on par with the iStick.

And that's on absolutely legit marketing channels, and you pay 21% VAT (included), at least in Spain.

But now, we take a look at Fasttech. We get rid of the VAT, and we get a clone of the genuine thing, but apart from that, we get a 30 W capable mod with some drawbacks (even worse 510...), which travels by airmail (without battery) and costs less than 38 €...... Some days even less (USD to € fluctuating...)

Someone would say that the Hana clone is way too bigger than the iStick, and of course they are absolutely right, but budget-wise, here this happens. My point is that we don't get used to flawed products in so silly details that are in the same range price than others.... we cry out loud about that....

...Hence we get hung up......

I've got a personality disorder, I always write too much, even for my doctorate thesis...... Luckily, you are not forcibly bound to read me entirely, I won't get angry for that....

Maybe if I buy him that new computer first, he won't notice.

This tactic always works on my wife.

Im not knockin it cause I love it, but I wonder if that's why it was so cheap. They did begin work on version 2 pretty fast.. Just wondering..
Eleaf took a page out of P4U's book then.

Here's a couple of pics of the wrap and a Kayfun Lite+.

I'm having problems getting my carbon fiber to stick on either edge along the display window. I cleaned the istick with rubbing alcohol fisrt with no luck. Did you have to heat yours or somthing? Did you get a premade skin or just a plain sheet? Mine is a self adhesive plain sheet from ebay.

I'm with you, amoret. Call me old fashioned, though I'm only 45. If my work didn't live up to the specs that I write, "would you like fries with that" would be a too often used phrase. In fact, I usually under-spec and over-engineer to ensure quality/longevity. Perhaps it's philosophical as well. Settling for mediocrity is never a good idea. Look where it's gotten America.

From Eleaf's perspective, I believe the iStick is inappropriate for a big chunk of their target demographics; namely, newbie and low-wattage vapers. I only paid a bit more than $30 for my iStick. But I would have happily paid $40 for an iStick made right.

This is just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Oh wow, so you did that yourself......I'm out! More power to you though, looks great.

No, you can do it. You can get Jwraps that have that similar color/texture if you like that (or choose from MANY) and get the shape made for the istick. All the various mods are listed for what it is to be used on.

Yep. It's MUCH easier than putting it on a MVP since there's no cut outs. Just a rectangle piece you stick on. I've only used it a few hours now but there's no issues with the sharp corners peeling up at all. And if you decide you don't like it, just peel it off and there's no residue left (from my MVP that I covered a few times). I've had it on my MVP for over a month and other than the really bad cut-out job, it's been flawless. It doesn't peel off unless you really work at it.

I just wiped it down with a microfiber cloth, no solution on it. I cut it from a sample sheet of DiNoc from 3m. Is your sheet a DiNoc from 3m or a knock off? The adhesive backing is pretty strong once it's applied and hold very well on my MVP. No issues on my istick either.

I would consider myself a low wattage vaper and the istick works great for me. I really don't see a problem as it will go down to 2w (though I don't know at what ohm). I didn't buy it because it went up to 20w. I got it for the form factor and cool little display. I never had an issue with power output on the MVP, it was just big and the fire button wasn't the most comfortable to use.

I know the voltage reading is off, but Ive never used anything with a wattage reading. Is watts off in step with volts or is the watts reading correct?

It shows the volts right under the ohm reading when in Watts mode and watts under the ohm reading when in Volts mode. Once you use it, you can figure it out pretty easily. As other have stated, start low and find a setting that YOU like and you'll be happy.

Good advice, KTMRider. That's what most of us have been doing and loving the iStick. The problem worsens for people vaping very low watts, however. Firing a displayed 4.5W into 2Ω on the iStick (3V) is actually dissipating almost 9W at the coil. That's 50% more than his target. While he may find himself happy with that, would you suggest he gamble $35+ on that experiment? It would be so much easier, yet less entertaining, if the iStick just did what it and Eleaf/Joyetech say it does.

My :2c:...

Trailz-where in NE Ohio did you purchase an ISTick, if I may ask? I'm in a Cleveland suburb and I've checked a couple local vape shops and they didn't have it yet. I have a blue ISTick, purchased online from UVape, but I am in the market for a second one.
Euphoria Vapor in Middleburg Heights. Staff is friendly and really know their stuff, and take the time to answer questions. They have a full taste bar and a huge selection of juices. Last week they opened a store in Fairview Park (they don't yet stock the istick at this store) so take your pick based on your location.

What texture would you recommend from Jwarps that gives a good grip? I want it primarily for that, style second of course.

Mine shows ohms volts and watts at the same time in both settings. Yup, Ive found my spot.
