I have 3 isticks using mainly mini tanks with the ego adapter and so far no signs of stripped threads. The only device I ever bought that had useless threads was the Sentinel clone which had an aluminum 510, it just plain wore out being so soft. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones, time will tell.

Over the past few days, I have been receiving a "Atomizer LOW" message... basically letting me know that my atomizer, in this case a KFL clone, is tightened too tight. It started showing when after I had it in my pocket and I took it out to vape and it wouldn't fire. It's an interesting error message, and not one I've seen on other mods.

That message only displays when your resistance on your atty is to low. Typically anything under 1 ohm on the iStick will not fire and give you the "Low Atomizer" message. As to why exactly your resistance is to low, maybe check your coils. Maybe a short somewhere? If it was firing fine before, than I am not sure what would cause your resistance to just drop out of nowhere. Maybe a screw that tightens your coil on came loose?

Actually I think he's got it right. I've been using a Nautilus mini on one for the last 3 days and I kept getting that message off and on for about an hour or so 2 days ago. There's no way the fixed 1.8 ohm coil in that thing is coming loose. I got frustrated with the error so unscrewed the tank completely, checked that the coil was tight in the base and then screwed it back on. Message never showed again. The coil was fine so the only thing that really changed was how tightly I had the tank on the Istick.

Totally agree, My first Istick threads stripped in 2 weeks have sent it back to where I bought it waiting for them to get back to me about it. Second Istick is holding up better just using a kanger EMOW mega on it with my own vertical coil builds and it rocks.

Lets hope they sort out a v2 quickly adjustable pin and better threads on the 510

Yes using a 510 to 510 adapter can help save the threads. Only issue I have with this is it will raise the tank and I prefer the look of it sitting flush on the iStick.

Even though it is not an expensive device and in essence a throw away because of non replaceable battery surely the threads should be built to last more than a few weeks as in my case? I may have just had a lemon as my other one (i got two together) is still OK but I am very weary about it and don't want the same to happen to this one.

I have had that error too. I think some juice was shorting out the connection. After cleaning all the connections with a Q-tip the error went away.

Can someone that has a smok omnitester and Eleaf Istick please put a 2.1 ohm coil on it and find out what the correct setting for 4.3 volts under load for me please? I want to set it for 4.3 voltage output, and since it runs hot, you cant just set it for 4.3. and because this mod uses PWM, I am unable to do so because my tester wont do this and I do not have an omnitester. PLEASE HELP!!!

FYI, for those of you wanting to know why 4.3v, its like my brand.

Just set it to 3.3 Eleaf volts and go from there until you find your "brand". Go for what you like taste/vapor wise and stop worrying about digital numbers shown on a display. ;)

Interesting for sure but I can only imagine the complaints from folks that use this thing (stuffing into pockets) when they start snapping the hinge off and then wont be able to use their device at all until they get home to find the special "tool" to take the remaining base off from their istick. +1 for the concept -1 for the practicality.

OTOH, I suppose it might hold up for folks that like to store their device in a case and are very gentle with their gear. I'm not in that crowd however.

Got my Eleaf ego adapter yesterday. The ego threads are not quite the same as the one that came with one of my iSticks, but it works great!

adapter from Smart Vapes on the left, came with the iStick on right. Hard to see with a cruddy picture....

No. Nothing wrong with the coils. It just was too tight and read 0 ohms. Backed off the KFL, and it read the resistance and all was back to normal. Basically the 510 connection is finicky: there's a fine line to the atty being loose and tight. I keep it in my pants pocket while working and move around a lot, enough that the atty sometimes loosens to the point of falling off, or tightens a bit.

Perhaps in a version 2, Eleaf will use a harder material for that top piece that houses the 510 connection.
