Hi, I just bought the istick yesterday. I vaped on it and it was amazing!!! Then, I got my first nasty burned hit....wasn't fun. I love the way this stick feels in my hands. I have all protanks and I specifically bought it for the protank 2 mini. So it popped the first coil. Changed it and it happened again. I really don't want to buy anymore tanks. I will rebuild coils though :) IV got 30g and 28g kanthal. And I was firing at "3 volts" even though it wasn't the 3 volts I thought it was. So I need help in figuring out what my next step is, does a 2.5 ohm single coil work to dial down the heat? Do I stick with the dual coils? How do I build the atty so that it's usable for me? I would consider a different tank in the near future just not right now.

I rebuild my work colleague's kanger coils for him to a single micro coil with 28 gauge and wicked with japanese cotton. The come out around 1.6ohm and he vapes at a low volts setting on his istick and has not complained about any dry/burnt hits.

For myself I re-build the kanger enclosed dual coils to a single VERTICAL micro coils with japanese cotton wrapped around it. I go for about 1.2-1.4ohm and vape on my istick at about 12 watts. I have the EMOW Mega tanks that have airflow control and wow the vape is amazing. I am sure if you got some re-building skills doing a vertical coil is the way to go (everyone raves about the aspire BVC).

Here is a post I did about how to re-build to a vertical coil as it might be intersting for you.

Hope it helps in finding your perfect vape

I'm getting burnt hits more and more on these things (I have 2).

1.8, 1.5 ohms. Doesn't seem to matter. Beginning to think my intial enthusiasm may have been a bit premature.

The power output seems to be completely wild and unpredictable.

I have 2 iSticks had to have one replaced because the 510 threading got stripped in a week but the other two are holding up fine. As for burnt hits I have not had a single burnt hit when I re-build the coils myself to be honest I have not used a stock bought coil for months.

Maybe the 28 gauge kanthal I am using can tolorate more heat and not burn the wicks ??

It does help thank you! Everyone talks about "proper gear" which leads to the "perfect vape" I thought I'd be chasing forever. Until I got this, the handheld aspect and compactness, just does it for me. Can't wait to get this up and running properly!

The iStick is a great little battery in my opinion, yes it has a few issues with the amount of power it throws out, dodgy 510 threading (I had to send one because of the 510 thread stripped in a week)

But for size, battery life, portability it is excellent and when you get the right tank/coil setup on top that suits your needs you won't be disappointed.

Interesting reading on Reddit. Posting about a month ago from Joyetech about iStick V2 and why the iStick vapes approximately 1 volt higher than indicated. If four-letter words offend anyone I would advise against reading the postings.

There's a post in that from VapeNW saying the following...

VapeNW said:
Eleaf will be releasing iStick 50w early 2015. Go to VapeNW iStick is now on sale for $29.86, we have all colors in stock.

Who knows if it is true, but I figured some here might be interested...

Best 30w mod beyang 30w vv mod with cheapest price, View beyang 30w vv mod, Joy4life Product Details from Shenzhen Leyixing Electronic Co., Ltd. on Alibaba.com

Looks like they are calling it Beyang. They say it will be out on December 15. They will take preorders. (so says a post on Joy4Life's FB page.) I don't see anywhere that says they sell individual units. At alibaba the minimum order is 20.

I'd like to check one out too, when they become available.

rep thinks they'll ship toward the end of december - not much of a price break unless you order 5000 ;) just ~ $27.00 each shipped to the states. that does not include possible import duties - no idea what classification they carry

IPV Mini

Has anybody seen this yet ? It's supposed to be similar in size to Istick and replaceable battery.

IPV Mini 30 Watt 30W Mod Sigelei 100 Watt Box Mod IPV V3 IPV3 Pre Order | eBay

I received an email last night from Pioneer4you about this. I'm not sure how I got on their mailing. The device looks interesting but I'm not familiar with the SX130 chip. I'm looking through YiHi's product offerings now and the chip looks like a decent DNA30D clone: Products-yihiecigar,sx350,Yihi SX350,dna30 30W chip,SX350 35W chip Manufacturers & Suppliers - Dongguan Yihi Electronic Co.,Limited

Not even close to the size of the Istick.

Istick: 75mm x 33mm x 21mm
IPV Mini: 94mm x 40mm x 23mm

Still... not a bad device but not "mini" unless you compare it to their other offerings (IPV2 and IPV3). It's also not shipping until the 15th so the auction site's 7th-15th date is misleading.

Supposedly, YiHi has great chips. They're not a clone of anyone. Lots of people seem to love their chips. The SX130 looks a lot like what's inside the Istick but with better buttons on the board.

Have to add that it looks like that Beyang will have the same 510 connection problem as iStick:

I used "clone" rather loosely didn't I. Maybe DNA30D "influenced"? :)
