Is the istick mainly for non-rebuildable tanks? I've been using my Kayfun with a 1.0 coil and it works wonderfully. I wrap the coils using 28 gauge wire and wick it with organic cotton. I have a bag of it from Walgreens. Setting in istick is 4.0V. Flavor is really good. I like a cool vape. For me, it's flavor over cloud although I get plenty of cloud with my build and settings on the istick. More cloud than with the I taste at the same build and setting.

That's too bad about the SX130. Is it because the USB port is oriented on the top of the board on the SX130?

If you plan to use the same extruded channels to mount the board, the screen would be too far from the window. There's no way to relocate the screen on the sx130. We can mount a dna style board (with screen on ribbon cable) similarly to the stock iStick.

In the last five weeks I've had my IStick, the little thing has grown on me. What a brilliant form factor. It's too bad that materials, workmanship and quality control are highly suspect.

I don't really need more than 20w in this form factor, however. I'm researching options now...

Many of us use RTAs with the iStick. The Erlkonigin is my new favorite non-dripping atomizer...

FYI, you can get the full eLeaf iStick kit (i.e. charger, usb cord, ego adapter) with a Nautilus Mini for $60 on eBay.
For those who might be a little wary of using ebay, you can get the full iStick kit for $34.99 and the Nautilus mini for $21.98 for a total of $56.97 at evape.us and this includes Priority shipping. Dave at evape is great to do business with.

What would be the best RTA for a beginner thats never built a coil. Not sure I'm going to, but black friday sales are coming...

What about a newbie RDA?

Wow. You ask ten people this question and you'll get ten different answers....

I purchased this RTA clone. It has amazing flavor. It is top fill. It is the easiest to build that I've experienced. Plenty of video tutorials online.

Erlkonigin Style Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (8ml) 1:1

As for RDAs, I prefer devices that allow for single coil airflow as I usually drip regulated.
I have Veritas, Plume Veil & Mephisto clones as well as an IGO L. I enjoy them all but currently favor the Veritas for it's incredible flavor and leak-resistant design.

Maybe others will chime in a bit too. Kinda slow today.

Well for a rda I would suggest a Magma. Super easy to build, really good flavor, and pretty deep juice well. We have two clones, infinate and tobecco and they are both nice, but I think the Infinate clone is a bit heavier.... Might just be my imagination. My experience so far is only the Magma, Atomic, and Tobh....but for ease of use and flavor hands down Magma wins for me. The Atomic is the perfect size for the Istick, but man is it small. Good Luck

I've read reviews on the Lemo. They say it's got some real sharp edges. Does it vape on the I stick better than the istick? I LOVE you my istick with my Kayfun. Lots of cloud. Better than the I taste, imho.

I have five Kayfuns, and I HAD one Lemo.
If you like the "draw" of the Kayfun, I don't think that you'll like the "airyness" of the Lemo.
I sold my Lemo, did not like how airy it was at all.

Although many people love the Lemo.

I love my Kayfun on my Istick.
Although I am not happy with the threads on the Istick (I put a 510 to eGo adapter on the Istick and haven't removed it).

I added this item to both my I-stick and MVP and have had no issues since. Tank Airflow Controller It's about 19mm in diameter and only 1/4" high so it actually looks like it belongs there.

If your are getting him an istick I would recommend an Aspire Nautilus Mini With 1.8 ohm coils and wall wart that has a 1 amp (1000mah) rating. It has been my personal set up for 2 months now and I have had great results with performance and flavor/vapor production at 3 istick volts. The coils have been lasting me over a month so he won't have to change them as often. Also the tank has a spring loaded pin which is easier on the isticks 510 connection. One thing to note is that when refilling the mini nautilus is not to screw it back together tight as it will be hard to unscrew it again. Just a lite easy turn till it starts to snug up then stop. just my :2c:

What he said. I've fount the Nautilus mini with 1.8Ω coil the perfect match for the iStick. Other toppers work well too but the Naut mini is hard to beat imo.

My first RTA was a Kayfun clone. and since, I have bought four more.
(actually Kayfun Lite +)

I currently have 3 (3.1, KFL+ and KFL+ v2) and 1 (KFL+ v2) on the way.

I have 2 Erlk clones and wouldn't recommend them as a first RBA. It's slightly easier to build on the deck but harder to get it working right vs KF. There are 2 massive threads for both RBA's with tons of info.

I have 3 iSticks, one is outfitted with a KFL, one has an Erlkonigin and the third has an Origen RDA (all clones). I think I'm going to get another Erlk to replace the KFL, the diameter is a good match for the stick and with the top fill holes, I'm not putting wear and tear on the connector everyday to refill.

I also like the Magma RDA (easier to build than the Origen) but the long pin on mine makes it stick up too high on the istick.

All built in the 1.5 to 1.7 ohm range and work great for me at around 6 Istick-watts. they work at higher watts, but I prefer them on the cool side.

It seems the people using mainly non-rebuildable tanks are having the most problems with dry hits and burnt taste, overpowering the toppers. I've been using my istick with my Genny tanks, 510 - 306 - 801 attys, various RDA, top coil vivi-nova and my most recent Orchid V4 (my first Kayfun style) with very good success. Built my Orchid with dual 30ga, 1.2Ω total and it's amazing. Have to make some lower nicotine DIY for it, I'm getting nice clouds and using a lot of eliquid....:vapor:
