Electric Cigarette/Loser?

I've had a couple people say to me, "I don't think I could ever use an e-cigarette -- It looks so dumb." I fix them with a pointed pitying look and say, "Oh, it just takes confidence in yourself."

I feel so alone in real life with vaping.

Oh no. Sadness. You certainly aren't alone here. vape proudly. I guaranteeeeeeee someone will work up the courage to join you eventually.

Funny story - I was at a family gathering last weekend. Went out to the host's garage where about a dozen smokers were gathered. I discreetly pulled out my smaller PV, an elite 808. They were all like oh is that one of "THOSE" (said with disgust and contempt) electric cigarettes? I confirmed that it was several popped off with negative comments. One woman said "Oh, I had one of those, I almost busted the window out in my car trying to flick the ash off it" She asked if I had the same problem.

I gave her my best ARE YOU SERIOUS LOOK and responded that I had not had that problem because I knew it was not a real cigarette.

Geez somedays I wonder how some people managed to make it to adulthood with such ignorance. Luckily my DH was ready to go at that point and rescued me from the lion's den.

On a positive note I think I finally understand why some smokers like to pick on vapers. Its like in high school when the most bullied kid in the school realizes there is another student weaker than him. Smokers have been demonized and picked on for so long, they are just looking for someone they can look down on. For the time being we vapers make an easy target and we have to remember how it felt to be so addicted to analogs and also know how much better we feel now that we are not.

This. I find with the people actually brave enough to say something its a great conversation piece. I used to smoke a pipe for the same reason. And on a road trip I can grab my nic, hop in the car and not worry about rolling my window down and everyone throwing gum and hand sanitizer at me. To the op, keep fighting the good fight. If vaping makes us losers, then we'll be losers that look younger and smell better, live longer, and enjoy our near effortless new means of attracting the opposite sex

Which reminds me....if any of the ladies can tell me what baked goods, they wished their man smelled like...I'll gladly vape it...
