yeah noticed that. Just became a member on a vaping board to tell us how bad it was and that he had quit.
I guess reformed vapers are just as bad as reformed smokers?

A past vaper, a present vaper, and a future vaper all walk into a bar. It was a tense situation.

I didn't say you had to like them!

I don't like making beds, doing dishes or cleaning toilets, either, but those things are necessary. Eating greens a couple of times a week are necessary, too.

I have to be able to not gag, to be able to eat something. If I don't like it, it ain't going in my mouth, period.

I've been immune to that sort of manipulation (or any other for that matter) from my mother since I was about 15 yrs old.

Took me longer but our immunity does not deny it's existence.
It is the preferred tool of mothers and religion.
It is the main ingredient in peer pressure.
And more but I am going to bed.

And btw yesterday was my 1 yr vapeversary. And I refrained from buying anything at all :headbang:

I think I'm immune to my mother's manipulation because I literally do not care what she thinks. Self-defense, as she is the most critical person I've ever known.

my mom told me if I play with it then it will fall off. i'm 59 years old and my 34 year old girl friend still plays with it and it has not fallen off yet.there are a lot of "old wives tales" floating around but no evidence to support them.exposure to sunlight and heavy drinking will make you age prematurely but I have seen no studies supporting the claim that nicotine would do that.

I went back and read the original post AFTER I read the rest of the responses. Forgive me for being a cynic, but I immediately thought (cough) (cough) troll.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY could ever shame me into quitting smoking, and believe me when I tell you, there were some that tried. I started vaping for me as a less dangerous alternative than cigarettes and never tried to hide it from anybody.

Smokers look old and ugly fast and perceived as losers?? Really? I'm no beauty queen, but I don't look upon myself as ugly either. And old? Hell yeah I'm an older woman, but I'm doggone not dead yet. And, I work circles around people half my age. Oh, and I could give a rat's .... as to how other people perceive me. That's their issue, not mine.

Show me the evidence that nicotine ages folks like cigarettes do. SHOW ME!!

The only thing that smoking did to my looks that I truly hate, is the "vertical wrinkles" on my upper lip. Really hate those. Otherwise... as I said, I think the longterm nicotine use helped me keep my weight down; pretty much every other woman my age I've ever seen is pretty significantly overweight. Unless she's a movie star or something. I'll chow down on some broccoli, but I ain't eatin' no kale!!!

Slave to- sugar, caffeine, salt, greasy burgers, coca cola, health/sports drinks, coffee, chocolate etc etc .

With all the bs advertizing and false claims Nic is on the very bottom of my list, make sure you also give up any b vitamines as well as niacin is actually nicotinic acid.

'To each his own', I guess. I smoked very heavily for 50 years, had two strokes at 35, lost all my teeth at 50 due to gum disease and that didn't make me quit. I quit, without intent almost a year ago when I first took up vaping and I've been on a pink cloud ever since. Parkinson's is prevalent in my family and my mother has been diagnosed with PSP so I have no desire to give up nicotine. For a beat up old man I'm in a pretty good spot in my life right now and if someone would ask what I think of vaping; I'd respond; "It's a thing of fornicating pulchritude"!!
Don't know if you are aware but at a recent Parkinson's seminar they mentioned that findings suggest that smokers have lower percentages of Parkinson's. They felt that the nicotine might be what is keeping those numbers lower and suggested that a nicotine patch might be a good idea for those recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. There is an ongoing study presently being conducted to determine if nicotine might be helpful in reducing symptoms of Parkinson's. Ginger

Why are people concerned with age appearance anyway. Whether you look 30 or 50, if your hot your hot, if your ugly then we'll your ugly. You can be 50 and look like a ugly 30 year old or you could be 25 and look like a hot 40 year old. Hmmm...maybe I should stop talking.
