What can your everyday civilian do to protect themselves against the possibility of an EMT attack?
1. Have a lot of battery operated devices on hand and the batteries to use them. Further, these appliances should have cords and antennas 30 inches or less in length. The reason for this is simple: Metal pulls in EMP and makes it more dangerous. Thus, less metal is good. Further, keep these appliances away from metal
. Use a Faraday Box to store equipment in. Makeshift Faraday boxes can be made from metal filing cabinets, ammunition containers, and cake boxes. That said, the device you are protecting must not touch the metal container (use insulation: paper, cardboard, whatever). Further, there can be no holes. Last, if the box seems less than adequate, you may wrap it in aluminum foil for more protection.

I didn't know that a solar charger would fry with a emp attack. I still want one tho. So Ca is ripe for a earth quake. Would come in handy. Also we are told we could lose power this summer. Who knows but there are many reasons for a solar charger. But I will research how to store it. But has anyone heard anything about the valley vapor solar charger?

Thanks K space for the info on the faraday box. Did a little research and that is what i'm doing. Tin box with foam inside for batts. I don't know but I feel I need to be perpared. I think everyone can feel that something is up, something. Earth is throwing us some crazy weather, I believe the goverment is creating chaos to control us, and the middle east hates us and yes we could see a emp attact on us. It would deliver us useless. What ever it is i'm getting ready.

You guys need to check out the you tube videos on the solar mod. I have one made by Shan B on the way!
When everyone else has a provari that can't fire, I'll be vaping on my porch with my shotguns.

I seriously got it for a day at the pool or camping, I live outside in the summertime and can even charge my iPod off of it! I'm thinking of having a bigger one made that can run my laptop if needed. I live in central Ky. so we loose our electric alot from storms, and it is cool, so I had to have it! Lol

Btw, I just ordered the Solar Charger that Grimmgreen shows in his video (further up in this thread). I might could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else but they give all the specs on the webpage (see link above) whereas they don't on places like eBay and I want to make sure I get the right one. If you have a couple of XTAR single USB charger (don't get the one on eBay- you can't change it with spacers to charge 14500 batteries) then you're set to go! (Rtdvapor.com) I'm planning on some camping and outdoor concerts this summer so I wanted to get this charger. :)

Would you let us know how it works out for you after you use it pretty please? I'm seriously contemplating it. :)

I have not looked at those yet, house mouse, but I will.
I will have to go to a USB charger for mine- Xtar makes them (single batts), but they are not very expensive. I'm thinking of getting two of those. The 18350 charger is already USB but I won't travel w/ the vv Woody. I think the important part here is that there are 2 USB or charging ports and that it can put out at least 500mA of power for each channel. The one I got has 2000mAh, which isn't great- it will probably deplete after charging 1 18650 battery but while in the sun, it should be able to do about 4 14500's. I plan on taking my mini's when I need to be using this thing!

Well didn't work very well- after a full charge (3 different attempts), it quit charging a cell phone I have after only 15 minutes. With that kind of internal battery life, it certainly won't charge up any Reo batteries. I have contacted the vendor to see what they can do if anything. I understand I bought the last remaining one they had. We'll see how they respond.

Yes I did get it. I hooked up a 900mah batt and a 650mah batt at the same time. Couldn't get a full charge on either one. It also didn't want to charge. I put it in the direct sun and it took 2 days to charge. So Ca is having very warm days so plenty of sun. So every 2 days I would be able to get a half a charge on my batts. I called dave and he had me send it back to him and will send out another one. Still waiting. No more black ones just silver which is ok for me. Now after hearing you TennDave I'm worried. $50.00 is alot of money to lose. I have a feeling this next one will work the same. What did Dave do for you if anything? I think that the battery pack inside the charger is very weak. imo
