It's okay Karen- no problem...I wish I had time...just too busy right now but I will ask him about that. It could be that they had two different versions. Anyone know of a USB splitter (makes 2 USB ports out of one?) Will that work?

Okay, I just figured out that it's like a PM and he sends you back email- so I left a message. We'll see. It's not that this is impossible, it's just going to be more time consuming to charge up things, even if using this and that cheaper solar charger I already have.

When I talked with him it was a instant chat in real time. It upsets me because he stated you could run two chargers. He does have a phone number but don't know business hours.

Okay, so a 2 Port USB hub was recommended and I just bought this one from Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-USB-...F2/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1338516257&sr=8-18
(with premier membership, shipping is free and guaranteed to arrive by next Monday). I hope this works out well for me- I'll let everyone know. Btw, my 18350 batteries charged up in about the same time that they would if they were plugged into AC current with the charger sitting outside on my deck this evening- that's not even with strong lighting, so I know this Solar charger can charge up those batteries! It should have no issue charging other batteries too...Not sure it would do 2 18650's though with that hub in 2 separate single bay chargers, but we'll see. This is getting more and more fun!!!

Tue. I got my replacement solar charger from valley. Charged it by wall outlet and it did charge a 14650 battery. So I thought ok not bad. So I put it outside in the sun wed. and brought in wed night. Red light still on. Ok put it out all day today and brought it in tonight and it is still red. I'm not sure if it's not charging or the light is broken. Put on a 18650 batt. light on charger went on and 10 min. later the xtar chargers lite went off. So tomorrow I will try to charge by the sun again. If it doesn't work than I wil be returning it. The whole idea is to charge by the sun. I have plenty of wall chargers. But I agree valleyvapor does have great cs and Dave is a great guy, just don't like them chargers.

Glad you found that hub Dave! That guy was really nice in our chat. He spent about 15 minutes searching for a charger that would work. He did say other e-cig users have bought his solar chargers.

Just an update...the smaller Solar charger w/ internal battery seems to work better after a few discharges and recharges...w/ usb connector to the 14350's (dual charger), it charged them up all the say from unvapable state!! The larger solar charger (panel type that rolls out) works flawlessly as long as there is plenty of sunlight. I got the dual USB cable (splitter) and it works well too w/ 2 USB chargers connected to it to charge 2 14500's at a time! The only thing I haven't tried yet is an 18650 on it and I assume it will do fine one at a time- will also try it w/ 2 running off of it, but this might be too much pull on it. Direct, good sunlight is a must!

Glad they are working for you Dave! Hope during your trip you have plenty of sun! Keep us posted on them. I am sure more people will be buying!

I'm back from Bonnaroo and ready to report.
The smaller charger wasn't worth the trouble. Even after a full charge it wouldn't hold a charge internally. I used it open with panels facing the sun as I charged- best it could do was one 14500 at a time. The other larger panel charger however worked great- though it takes awhile for two 18350's at a time. It also worked great to keep my cell phone charged- snapped it on the back of a small back-pack and charged away as I walked around the venue. I never had to charge 18650's...mostly vaped on my Minis and VV Woodvil. After all my stuff was charged to satisfaction, I helped others keep their cell phones charged! Nothing like a free charge at a festival where they charge so much a minute for charging stations to the general public. I got hugs in return! LOL

Tenn my small charger isn't working right either. After almost 2 weeks now I've only got one 650 mah to charge. It takes 2 days to charge the solar charger, so I would get one 650 mah batt evety 3 days. Returning it. I'm done with solar chargers for the time being.
Yeah, nice concept about charging from an internal battery but the larger panel without the internal battery works great while the smaller guy doesn't. I agree about the time it takes to charge it up. My problem was that even after it was charged up it wouldn't hold the charge.

If you need to charge from a source (without solar) you can always use the Xtar WP2-II...it has USB out and you can use a a couple of fully charged 18650 batteries to charge off smaller ones like 14500's (or anything w/ less mAh) although when you're finished the 18650's might be close to depleted and I'm not sure about letting them run down under a certain amount (some say no less than 3.5V).

Yes, the one mentioned above, but be aware that it does not have 2 USB outputs...it is also slow going but beats the other...maybe 4 hours to charge 2 of the 18350's to full capacity with the Xtar USB charger. I got a 2 port USB dongle (hub) from Amazon to charge 2 14500's at once w/ the 1 bay USB Xtar chargers too- these charge fairly fast- 2 going at once, maybe a couple of hours. As long as their is sun, you can't out-vape this Solar charger!
