Vocalek proposed this in another thread, but I thought it was a GREAT idea so am proposing it here for your consdieration.

Email The MythBusters at Discovery.com to do the testing of the smoke from analogs against the vapor from e-cigarettes. Depends on the number of request from their 'public', if they do it or not.

I can't take credit for the idea. "Lloyd" started a thread on Mythbusters, and I simply added my 2 cents worth.

You have to register at Discovery Channel before you can post, but it would be worth while to go support the idea of doing a show on e-cigarettes. Here's the discussion thread to access once you have registered.

I think you're going to have to find a way that can test them while either blowing something up, or destroying something in the process. That's MythBusters 101, blowing stuff up is cool.

So after they test the air quality inside the smoked / vaped cars, they can blow up the cars!

Just go to Discovery.com look for the tab to TV Shows, select MythBusters. Find link to share idea. This will take you to the forums. Follow the instuctions, go to 'find' tab, type 'e-cigarettes'. Click on the link, you will then have to register, return to the forum and place your comment.

Will take a little effort, but could be worth the while.

Some Statements/Myths/Claims that I've read here in the forum, feel free to add more...

1. PV's should not be used in airplanes because they might cause the whole plane to EXPLODE!...

2. PV's should not be used when pumping gas because the fumes in the gas might make contact with the "glowing atomizer" which in turn would cause it to BLOW UP!...

Now I know there's several more, but they just seem to escape me at the moment, which in turn might cause my computer to....ahhh nm. LOL

Have a great day!

I recall reading on this forum not too long ago about someone falling asleep with thier pv and the atomizer being activated..I think it was something to the effect of the heat burned them causing them to wake?
So maybe a logical test would be to determine if it could ignite bedding? though gas fumes would make for a good demonstration, I think bedding would be more real world IMO.

Rather than conducting searches and/or starting new threads, let's keep Lloyd's thread going.

This is a direct link to the thread that Lloyd started:

Don't know for sure, but I suspect that we get more bang for our buck if we have one thread that has many replies to it, rather than a number of new threads with only a couple of replies each.

Careful, we wouldn't want the publicity from either of these possibilities should they turn out to be 'confirmed' or even 'plausible'.

I don't think that Mythbusteres would touch this subject. A lot of kids watch the show. I think it would be way to controversial.

I have to agree.

But I would LOVE to see something (like a car) blown up. I would love it more if Michael Moore was in it (the car that is). Sorry, just a carryover from another thread list here.

see how much yould have to vape and how many mg inorder to blow the heart of of some homemade lungs for buster awwww pooor buster

why not they did a show on trying to beat a breathalizer at the police station lol i fell asleep before i could see if they did it

The show is about busting widely known myths. I can't think of any myths that they could try and bust regarding ecigs. Even if there was a real myth I don't think it's a subject that would attract a lot of viewers. (outside of people who vape)
