One other thing about using the adapter vs. the solid state mega hub-
In regards to our new 306lr drip stem... It would look better to remove the mega adapter and thread the 306 flush on the pipe shank. Then the stem would flush fit without the added dress ring or band.
The band has been a bit of an issue with the 306. It likes to wick liquid from the vent holes and you end up with a leaky pipe.
Perhaps the flush mount will do better.

Anyway I guess you guys can tell I don't like to release something until I'm happy with it so just be patient.

Those freehand pipes are really nice. Loving some of the stuff you're doing with the Bird's eye maple too. I think that'll work for the pipe I'm sending you. Red dyed bird's eye maple.

FYI Jason I am currently working with some real brair. The blocks are super expensive but I can get brair now.
Although the look and texture of the birds eye is very similar to briar especially after the dye process.

Also they did have a lot of mt. laurel at the shop I went to. The only problem was is still green and would not be ready for pipe making for 2 yrs. I'll keep looking.

I am impatiently being patient :p

I use adapters on everything is why I asked lrd about the short issue, I vape 510's on a 901 gg, 901's on an ego, 510 to 510 to get a good fit on a box mod....but like lrd I always screw it into the atty/carto first then the device, so it may be one of the reasons I have so far avoided any issues.

Ird's cone thread fix pretty much solves the problem of using a carto on the pipe...I just don't want to start cutting up my ego batts to get there :p

I don't have a lot of disposable income at the moment, so the bird's eye will have to do! ;-)

I'm going to do a video on this but a cart condom from a 510 or type A with the back cut off can be slipped over the hub and will grip the ego cone. easy solution.

I say super expensive I guess that is relative... $25 for a mini block which will do an egg, liverpool, dublin... $35 for a small which will do an apple, rhodesian (broader pipes).

I really like the birdseye, its very unique looking wood....

I noticed that all the Eggs and apples are sold out.

We are currently working on close to 100 pipes. may be a couple weeks before new stuff hits the site but we'll have a lot!
I also have more birds eye on order :)
