Hey everyone I am back from vacation and revived with Caribbean inspiration!

To answer your question ob, no, the stems are sold separately.
If you scroll down on the product page there is a fairly concise description that explains what comes with the pipe and compatibility etc. etc.

Back to my inspired return...
I have around 30 or so pipes on the bench to finish and post this weekend:2cool:
I have also been studying ancient art and architecture. I got to walk along the Great Wall of San Juan and see some 5-600 yr. old structures first hand. A few years back i was able to visit the mayan temples of coba and chichen itza. I plan to continue this art study over the next few years and hope to tour the Mediterranean. I have always been fascinated with Egyptian, Greek, Hindu/ Indian, Sumarian, and so on, art and sculpture. I hope that this study will help to expand my artistic expression. So if you begin to see some of these influences in my sculpting and even the titles, that would be why:thumbs:

Damn, and every time I buy something I think, wow it just can't get better than this, and then you have to tell us about your new inspirations and ideas.

Hey Matt, When can we expect to see some stems show up on the site? I've got an order waiting to be placed..but would prefer to get it in together with the stem.

Thanks!
Unfortunately the stem order did not get placed before I left for vacation. So we probably won't have new stems until after Christmas.

So I have a question for you genesis addicts out there...
I just got in my lava gen and got it all set up, used the method from the video for the wick and coil and well... After rebuilding it 4 times over it's just not doing what everyone raves about.
It's a little better than my previous genies but the big problem for me still remains. It doesn't wick fast enough and it gets dry by the 2nd or third hit. At that point it tastes horrible like metal nastiness. If I let it sit for a minute or two it hits fine for 1 or 2 drags but then nastiness again. I know a lot of you love you're genies but they seem like a whole lot of work for nothing.
Aside from flying out to see dirquist and get the tutorial first hand, I just don't know if I want to fool with them any more.
Silica is just easier, better flavor and more reliable.

Anybody have any thoughts? I mean, I'm not a dummy, but I'm really disappointed with genies and can't imagine why people love them so much... I can only guess that I'm doing something wrong.

I used to get dry hits all the time. I just run a thinner SS Mesh wick with little to no hole. I run pure 100% vg so it wicks better doing that method. At least for me. I am getting #500 mesh soon, so that should alleviate.

It does taste a lot better out of genny for sure.

You know, stevo123 who just bought the water elemental lives very close to you, about 30-40 minutes. He is well skilled with the genesis atomizers. You should ask him to come by the shop and help set you up. It's a matter of practice. You figure it out over time. Your long bottom leaf tastes incredible on the genesis by the way...He can bring a device or two for you to try out as well.

I'll PM him and see if he would be willing.

I've run 250-400 and have little or no hole. I've got 400 in now and it just tastes nasty. I cleaned it well with alcohol after finding it tasting so bad. Rinse, rebuild and still got shiitake mushrooms...

No hot spots? Wick is not touching the bottom of the tank? I usually cut my wicks at an angle at the bottom, and find it helps with wicking as well as reducing potential surface area contact if it does touch the bottom.

Boo on the stems, btw!! :p

That might not be a bad idea. I have a zenisis a DID, GTank, etc. etc. I've even built a few genesis rba's and every time they wick horrible and the taste is no where near as good as silica.

Have you tried having your set up with the wick pointed to the ground. It will promote the flow of juice down the wick. I'm not sure about the lavagen, but if it has a fill hole with a fill screw, leave it out.

I'll have a look at the coil, but I used the "kink" method and it seems good.
i'll try that angled wick base too, I used to do that back when I was still doing straw mods in carts! It worked well then.

sorry about the stems:(
