Here's a brief explanation of what went down last night?!
The issue had to do with two vendors cross-posting business related information in this thread. That, according to the Supplier Terms of Service is not allowed. A vendor can chit-chat in another vendors thread with their permission and that is fine, but there has to be no shop talk. The chatter about the 510 connector was the issue and as such was removed, and communications sent to the vendors in question.
Now, where things start to get bad is when the removal of business posts does not go over well, either from the vendors perspective or from the vendors supporters. That's when the thread starts to look like a mine-field. Discussion of moderation in the open forum is not allowed, not only on ECF but on ALL forums. That is an actionable item on forums and while we try and temper it by issuing Rule Reminders (which we have not yet done in here) rather than issuing infractions, we try and see if it can be stopped by posting in the thread and/or deleting posts. However, if the trend continues, my hands will be tied with as to how things go down. So, please drop the discussion about moderation. If you have an issue, report it or PM the moderator or Forum manager.
Matt and I have been exchanging PM's yesterday evening, and it's just as upsetting to me as it is to him. After all I've been part of this group for almost 3 years now too.. He is one of perhaps a handful of ECF vendors that I deal with on a regular basis. Unfortunately in order to be fair to all vendors, we cannot show favoritism on the board and at times are forced to make and carry out decisions that put us in a bad spot with our favourite vendors.
