Sadly my bike rides are limited to a few hours on weekend afternoons since the wife and baby came along. Definitely not long enough to get to Georgia and back. I wish I could help you get this going. Im assuming that you tilt it on its side somewhat when you vape?

Yeah, Im dying for a shorty universal. I always wondered why they were so long and would totally dig a shorty.

I do tip it a bit, the flavor does seem to be getting a little better with time. Then again maybe i'm just getting used to the nasty flavor. Is there a break in period for a new wick and coil?

There is definitely a break in period. But that scorching terrible throat hit only happens when you are burning the juice. You should not get that. Give it time if you think you have it working correctly though as it will improve with age. There is no doubt. For example on the throat hit. When I take as huge of a drag as I possibly can with a little huffing and puffing to get the maximum I can I get zero throat hit with 6mg LBL. Just pure clean flavor. LBL is amazing in a genesis. So is Shire and SGP. They all pretty well shine in a genesis IMO.

Sorry matt, wasn't able to answer your question. I had work related emrrgency. I brought the pipe to our client's server room and vaped my brains out.

As for rba matt, you just need to be patient. Invest a lil time to learn a few tricks . There's a lot of techniques out there and you'll eventually find tne that suits you. Heck i remember my first rba, it was a steam machine geni and it took me 5 hours to make it work (stupid center post lol). Now i rebuild in less than 10mins

Second would you guys like to have an option for LED's (red and blue) in the new pipe carto's? I have a blue one and it's kinda fun.

I would also be interested in a shorty universal stem. How short are we talking? Do you have a picture for what you have in mind?

I was thinking that it could seat in the atty just bellow the node where the tip connects. Basically removing the middle part.

I don't think so, acrylics are far too brittle and with the thin walls on the universal I think acrylic would be a huge fail.
I will ask though, perhaps there is a more durable material with cool colors, maybe alumilite?

It´s actually pretty nice when it´s working but fiddling with coil is impossible. I ordered it just to do a review but I think it´s a keeper... I only keep the ackward and weird ones Sold all the Hellfires, z-attys and what not, now I got Genesis LV, G-tank-US, G-Tank and this in use

So I have a question for you genesis addicts out there...
I just got in my lava gen and got it all set up, used the method from the video for the wick and coil and well... After rebuilding it 4 times over it's just not doing what everyone raves about.
It's a little better than my previous genies but the big problem for me still remains. It doesn't wick fast enough and it gets dry by the 2nd or third hit. At that point it tastes horrible like metal nastiness. If I let it sit for a minute or two it hits fine for 1 or 2 drags but then nastiness again. I know a lot of you love you're genies but they seem like a whole lot of work for nothing.
Aside from flying out to see dirquist and get the tutorial first hand, I just don't know if I want to fool with them any more.
Silica is just easier, better flavor and more reliable.

Anybody have any thoughts? I mean, I'm not a dummy, but I'm really disappointed with genies and can't imagine why people love them so much... I can only guess that I'm doing something wrong.

I'm currently using #500 mesh with a small channel in the middle and it wicks like a beast. In fact if I tip it too far it wicks too well and it floods. Don't give up yet I think you may come to love these like many of us do.

Oh one more thing that is strange.
My coil is reading 1.95 ohm and tasting burnt. I've heard of some people running coils at >1.5 ohm on genies with no wicking issues.
This boggles my mind. I can't imagine rigging a coil that low with a mesh wick, talk about throat hit, just strap an I beam to a semi truck and hit me in the neck at 60mph.
I really wonder if it's just a matter of taste (preference).

I have my Z-Attys at 2.0 ohms on the provaris, but for my unregulated Gens like my cobra (which lives on my dragon pipe I keep it down at 1.4-1.5. Gives thick clouds of pure tasting mellow throat hit vaper. Just like you I vape 6mg and am not a fan of heavy throat hits.

Have you checked out the video about using a long 510-510 adapter to easily get at the coil with a full tank of juice still in place?

The same material they are in now but in colors would be nice to get a more matched look with the pipe or if they could make them in the colors if the drip tips that would be cool also.

Curious if you guys clean these on a regular basis. The liquid seems to get really dark as the tank gets used up. I like to clean my RBA's once a week or so and it seems that would be a real PITA with a genesis rba. Especially if they take a day to break in.

the liquid should not get dark that means its burning it and it seeps back into the tank, all i do to clean them is empty the tank with a syringe then put warm water into the syringe and squirt it through the tank fast it should squirt out the wick then dry and heat the coils and dunk it under the tap and repeat a couple of times this also cleans the kanthal wire makes it as good as new
but if you use the same juice just dry burn and put under tap a cuple of times takes a min job done so easy

I do exactly what Stevo does. Once a week or two depending on the juice and use. Basically just rinse under the sink unless changing juice.

I never dry burn mesh. I change the Kanthal rather often due to build up etc, just because it´s so inexpensive in the end so no use for reusing. I have been cleaning both with water or pure PG and a syringe. Some tanks are easier than others to just pop open and rinse.

I'm even lazier. I'll just squirt some distilled water in and out a few times with a syringe, burn it dry and put juice back in. My first ZAP has had the same wick and wire for well over a month and still tastes great.

Sidenote: Matt thanks for the quick turnaround on the pipe, was expecting a much longer wait since you were on vacation. Was surprised when I got a ship notice today. Can't wait to get her back!
