The black is probably machining residue, or perhaps even polishing compound that got stuck in the engraving.
I kinda like the contrast of the black line in the engraving.

The black in the engraving is a nice touch, I'll polish it up fully and then think of a way to add it back in.

Any ideas? Maybe nail polish with a toothpick or even a fine point Sharpie.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I just got the Fire in the Sky Dublin in the Vapemail. Looks super sexy!! went to put a cone on it and i guess it was bent a too high an angle or the hole was not cut out enough because the leverage of screwing the cone in place unglued the ego connector from the pipe. Guess it will be headed back to you Matt.:( BTW his name is Apollo!!

I use the green polishing compound on a Dremel bit and I think when you polish over the engraving the black stays in there unless you really dig it out. Its only green until you start buffing with it then its black.

That happened to me too. I just put a little super glue around the connector then stuck it back in place and let it sit overnight. It's good as new now and I managed to avoid any residue by making sure to use only a small amount. You might try that if you're so inclined

Always enjoy Preview Thursdays, even though I can only window shop at the moment.

I know the feeling...made an offer on a house a couple days ago, counter offer was made, I accepted the counter...now I get to deal with the buying a house process again. Money will be tight for a few months...
