We currently use clearomizers with Spinner batteries. Is there another battery that uses replaceable parts in case the FDA restricts e-cigs? Just trying to look ahead, just in case. I have signed petition.
It's doubtful whether any restrictions (if they do come to pass) will affect hardware, especially batteries. That being said, there are numerous APVs being offered that take replaceable lithium ion batteries - cylindrical batteries similar to the alkaline batteries in stores.
These batteries, and APVs, come in different sizes.
Battery sizes:
14500 - 14mm in diameter; 50mm in length. These are the same size as your everyday AA battery.
18350 - 18mm in diameter; 35mm in length
18650 - 18mm in diameter; 65mm in length
Since you're used to using the Spinner, the L-Rider Robust might be an option for you. This is a variable voltage APV that uses a 14500 lithium ion battery. It is only a little larger than the Ego style batteries. Be sure to buy IMR lithium ion batteries. These type of batteries work best with an APV that uses only one battery; but is able to vary the voltage greater that 4V. The L-Rider Robust is "510 threaded"; this means that if you use Ego threaded clearomizers, you will need to get an Ego-to-510 adapter.
Like he said, hardware will probably not be effected, and if it were, it's easy enough to make a simple box mod, etc, and then we have rebuildable atties. The real issue of concern will be nic and juice. It's yet to be seen how that will play out. It may be wise to look into juice DIY in the meantime.
