This is how my atomizer arrived. it may just be a fluke, but I wanted to point this out before anyone has problems.

I had to push the center pin into place. it wasnt easy I had to use my press. If you run your atomizer like this and over tighten the atty you can short your device. I know most of you know this, but better to be safe then sorry.

Here is what it should look like

Thanks Rob,

They came to me prepacked from the Philippines and were supposed to be pre-checked for QC issues. I've brought this thread to the attention of Team ERA.

~ James.
Thanks you James :)

hi rob, i got 3 ERAs i is flush on center pin 1 is only slightly protruding and 1 sticks out a fair bit. i dont have a press but do you think a bench vise will work without damage
Your vise should do the trick just go easy. You want the center pin to protrude a whisker

Thanks for the heads up!! 2 of mine protrude and 1 sits flush. The one that sits flush is the one that doesn't thread well, though. I've been using one of the protruding ones on my Grand and VV both so far without issue. I don't tighten much though when I put them on, so hopefully it will remain OK.
You can try to push the pin in on a hard flat surface .

Sorry if this has been answered before, but your discussion leads me to a question. I know that on a mechanical Reo a short will cause the spring to collapse. Do the electrical Reos (woodvils and VVW/G's) have the same feature? In other words, what happens to a VV Reo if there is a short?

Technically yes...all of these mods have the same spring, however, the vv chip will stop the flow of power before the spring heats up. At least that is my understanding. So you may not see a spring collapse on the variables so much as the mod just won't work until you replace the atomizer and try again.

Sounds like rebuildable attys is the thing lately. Im sure I'll get one someday. Maybe when there is one that works on all REOs without tweaking.....Im real lazy.

Im sure you figure it out quickly enough. I let it up to you guys that like to fiddle and experiment on stuff. Im reeeeeeal picky when it comes to attys and get ...... off even if I have to replace a Cisco.

I've probably made 10 coils in the past week, I figure it's cost me about 30 cents. Takes a bit of fiddling to get the hang if it, but I'm digging having a rebuildable.
