Sounds like the ibtanked glass doesnt fit the clones then. but as has been mentioned, there are who knows how many manufactures of these things, or even if there is just a few manufactures, we dont know how tight their tolerances are, so the glass may fit my clone and not your clone (from the same manufacture).

Exactly! I sure hope that WooPigSooie's nano kit fits but even though he got one with the same packaging as mine, that doesn't truly ensure that it came from the same manufacturer. Even if it did, Chinese QC isn't the greatest and an atty from the beginning of the run may differ in tolerances from the end of a run.

That's why iPhones are so crappy?

Now on second coil but fourth wick, I tried to trim and place the wick like the previous pictures. I went step further just to make sure Im getting a great seal from the middle o-ring on the top cap, I added a rubber cap off of a Kanger evod coil that goes at the bottom of the chimney. I placed it on Earl chimney where the threads end for the top cap and basically under the o-ring. It took a little effort but fits like a glove. I dont have a clue if it will help or not but at this point Im really wanting this tank to vape correctly. I hope all that makes sense and here is a pic of the rubber piece used from the kanger coil.

    Whew, that's a relief....

However, I might add that my IBTanks won't fit either direction and the o-ring is irrelevant because the glass will not clear the metal on the top cap of the silver box clone. At least on mine anyway.

Having the same issue with mine as well. Was thinking of sanding the edge of the top cap a bit.

Yes!!! I liked this Atty so much, that I immediately ordered 2 more. They are currently on the slow boat. But, when I get a backup, I'm gonna try some Emory cloth to knock a bit of metal off that top cap....and Jax, your making me nervous again..Ha

    Touché! :D

You know what I mean bud. Yeah, their QC on iPhones, somehow governed by Apple, is pretty damn good. Their QC on replica attys is somewhat suspect.

I really hope the nano works out for you man. Don't blame the messenger if it doesn't though. You can always order an ErlprinZ if it doesn't. That way you can have the moral ground to say that you contributed to the originator. Twice! :D

    Heh.

QC is determined by the company. It can be as good or as bad as you want to pay for. China got a bad rep years ago because everything that came out of China was crap but it was cheap. I'm not for them but I'm not against them (for the most part). I only have clones so far and they're all pretty damn good as far as fit and finish.

To be on topic, I gave up on the Erlk. Tried another build, all new coil and wick and different juice. It's not leaking but the popping is driving me nuts. I've been vaping on my KFL+ this evening and the flavor is just as good with more vapor (if you're into that), quiet and no popping.

I re-wicked mine today using Labo cotton from amazon, its like KGD... not any cheaper or anything, but I have this must try new things syndrome...something tells me I am not the only one in this thread that suffers from that ;)

anyway, I didnt put the wick ring holder thingy under the chamber...no difference in wicking or vaping... just thought I'd mention that.

also I have to say to the poster who is having trouble getting his/hers to wick or stop flooding, its obviously a bad device, or some piece is not milled correctly, or oring or something..... I have wicked this thing 3-4 times, done 2 coils so far, with the exception of 70vg juice it wicks just fine wide open.......the higher vg juice I had to close the afc a little to get some pressure to pull the juice in, but I have not had a "bad" build yet..... with the exception of having to trim the wicks like a hair stylist, its not much different that wicking a kayfun or maybe an aqua might be more accurate.... so far mine just works. If I close the afc with 50/50 juice I get a little wetter vape (more flavor) and maybe some slight (I mean slight) gurgle or slurping noise.... but a great vape. No real complaints from the one I got with the exception of the 510 pin being too damn short

I will probably order the $15 from fasttech if it has a large pos pole for more airflow that might be nice.... I remember why I didnt order that one, its a 10 day wait :D just need to order it and forget I did and it'll show up whenever it gets here.

It was actually a 22 day wait before shipping. I kept track. :D

I got the clone on the silver box. I was expecting better, owning an Erlk and Erlp, I thought it was going to be more on par with the Erlp. Not even that, can't even close the top cap correctly since both o-rings are gigantic and just forces the top cap out... I'm yet to build on it but doesn't sound promising.

Similar to the stuff that used to come from Japan. I remember when I was growing up there was all kinds of cheap crap that said "Made in Japan". To me, it's almost as if China became the new Japan.

Really? Aw man, I'm sorry to hear that.

I get awesome flavor and the vapor is much greater for me in the ErlK over a KF.

I have wicked this thing 3-4 times, done 2 coils so far, with the exception of 70vg juice it wicks just fine wide open.......the higher vg juice I had to close the afc a little to get some pressure to pull the juice in, but I have not had a "bad" build yet.

I only vape 80vg juice. I do not use the afc ring and also have the optional open draw posi pole holder installed on all of ErlKs. No issues with wicking at all. This is with both my Kanthal and Nickel builds. Currently vaping a Nickel build with a .27Ω coil at 25w and 500F today. No leaking, no gurgling, no popping, no dry hits. Just pure, unadulterated vapor. Loving it!

I ordered the one with the ss drip tip, still says available in 10 days. That was on the 10th of October, changed my order today after filling a ticket with them, they basically said that there was no telling when they would have them in stock, do I ordered the one with the ss tank and drip tip adapter. If the other finally becomes available I'll order it as well. The quality of the one I have is great, I'm very happy with it.

Interesting. My silver box clone had excellent fit and finish. Except for the o-ring at the top of the chimney (might've been too small). I added a #60 o-ring and all was well. Still loud and popping. In contrast, my EHPro KFL+ doesn't pop at all and is very quiet.
