Any competent electronics techie could do the replacement, so I am curious, why Zen? (I know he designed the original, but other than that I'm not sure about the connection. Did he make some sort of statement about it?)
Yeah, they offer a service which consists in upgrading the clone... Pretty nice move.

I bought the clone as well. Would rather have that than the erlprinz since it has no wick ring, top cap twists indefinitely etc.
Also, the orings on the top cap of the clone do look like they're protruding a bit. You can always buy a pair of original o-rings and put them there but we're also getting ripped off even for a bag of spare o-rings by i2r.

I currently run my ErlKs without the wick ring. Quite honestly, I think they perform better without them.

Tightening the top cap on the ErlprinZ is rather simple. You use the allen wrench. Stick the short end in one of the fill holes. Put the long end against the chimney and turn.

Speaking of the juice ring... I noticed on the erlprinz that the chimney sits flush on the base. There is no way to fit a ring there?
Not that you would need one but anyway... :)

I like that it doesn't have the ring. Kept reading posts about bubbles getting stuck under there. I like watching the bubble squeeze out and float up in the Prinz. :D

On a side note, has anyone ordered the clone from vapingtech.net? I ordered on Tuesday morning and got confirmation but still nothing about it being shipped yet, wondering if they're legit? If I like the clone, I will probably order the real deal.
I got one in about 4 days and it seems excellent to me.

To whoever have the clones and jaxgator.

I own an original as well but would be keen on trying out the clone to have a second tank basically. Are the threads ok? The chimney being thicker, does that impose any problems when wicking (mainly the shoulders)? Overall, does it perform the same?

Cheers

Don't have the clone but I think the chimney is the only part that doesn't fit well. Now I can't remember if it was the clone chimney on authentic base or vice versa. Jax surely knows.

Even the erlprinz which is basically a frugal erlkoenigin does some grindy sounds when you put a Nanos chimney on it's base (the nano tank was made for the erlkoenigin). It does fit though and with a little toothpaste you can mate those pieces in under 2 minutes to perfection but out of the box you can feel different tolerances at play

I believe I stated in my first post that the clone chimney does not fit the authentic base.

Personally, I would get the ErlprinZ. Why purchase a clone, when you can get the original with manufacturer's warranty at damn near the same price. Hell, even if it's a little more, you are contributing to the original manufacturer that will hopefully drop those extra dollars into further development.

So how does it vape compared to the original?

Sorry to say, but I have yet to build the clone. So, no comparison yet.

In time.
