I hope you all can see the fine hairline cracks. I can actually feel them with my nails on the outside. Like I said I've only ever run castle long and a diy version of castle long thru this earl... And I've run who knows how many hundreds of ml's of the same juice(s) thru my Kayfun's with plastic windows, clone, authentic, fasttech windows, etc... no cracking on the Kayfun whatsoever... I'm not sure why the Earl tank cracked so badly? Or so quickly...

New SS Version of Erlkonigin Clone on china website taobao

I like that simply for the fact the tube has Erlkonigin on it! One thing the authentic is missing.

Sent from Tapatalk.

I'm liking that a lot myself. Erlkoenigin has been working with IBTanked to produce one similar (etched instead of painted). Not sure when those will be available.

Original:
Pro's - quality, fit and finish, warranty.
Con's - Price and sometimes availability.

$20 "silver box" clone:
Pro's: quality, fit and finish, most parts for the original work with this clone. Spare o-rings.
Con's: Has a yellowish coating over the stainless. o-rings in the top cap fall out easily, top cap over twists past the o-rings slightly.

$15 FastTech clone.
Pro's: 2mm airflow base. Drip tip adapter, steel drip tip. Adjustable 510. O-rings don't fall out of the top cap. Threads are really nice.
Con's: The finish is terrible. It's unpolished, so all the edges are sharp and unfinished. Red o-rings. Missing juice control adapter, missing o-ring under top cap.

It's only great for spare parts.

Edit: Of the three attys listed, I can only compare them to the Kayfun.

Lighter, easier to position the coil, double the juice capacity in a smaller footprint. Toolless refilling. When wicked correctly, leaks less. Airflow is way easier to adjust on the fly.
The negatives. Proprietary driptip, somewhat finicky with the wicking. Looks "cheap" compared to a Kayfun. Short 510. (Typically nonadjustable 510, though many of the clones have an adjustable 510).

Excellent summarization PoM! Thanks! :toast:

Wow! None of my auth's or the clone exhibit that. That looks horrible.

You didn't clean that with isopropyl alcohol did you?

Excellent summary! Thank you very much! Sounds like the original is the way to go.

It sounds like the major concern, at least for me, with this tank is the wicking. One thing I like about the Lemo is how forgiving it is, compared to a Kayfun, when it comes to wicking.

That said, I do have an Orchid and can wick that just fine. And it's much less forgiving to wick than a Kayfun.

I really do like the look of the Erl..... I guess I need to think on it a bit more.....

My pic of the day.... [emoji2]

Ok, meant to ask you this in the auth Erlk thread: what mod is that? Manhattan?

I really do like the look of the Erl..... I guess I need to think on it a bit more.....

One of the best features of the Erlk imo, be it the authentic or the clone, is size vs capacity. It seems like such a tiny tank and then when you hold it in your hand it's hard to believe that it holds 6ml. One tank gets me through my 9 hour work day. I so wish that the 3ml nano could get me through the work day but it just doesn't make it.

As far as voltage drop, my copper nemesis is the best, Stingray X a very close second.

Vaping - either the Stingray X or my AR.

Haven't used the Manhattan in a while so I thought it'd break it out today, but my AR is in my case in the office "just in case".

Wish my P3B would hurry back home, supposed to ship out today.

And freaking Glas posted up new mods on their site yesterday, but no 18650 mods... sadly. That's the mech I'm waiting for.

Yeah, I saw that too. Been wanting a Glas for a while now.

My plan was to get 2 more Erlks first though.

Oh, and I did see where they do have one in 18650 - The Solari. Of course, it must be the one no one wants. If I'm paying that kind of coin, I do not want that one.

Nope, not my first rodeo ;) water only. I never put soap on it the plastic either, just the metal parts for its initial cleaning.

I opened a ticket with FastTech today, I'll see what they say. This atty is going to be pretty hard to use with no tank...
