I got this off of Qorax's thread:

A great thread I must say.

This is my 2nd erlk as I spend a lot of time on a boat so if it gets trashed I can live with it, I bought a genuine one first and liked it so much I bought a clone;). I usually do this now saves me some pain on choosing vape gear.

Gotcha. I must have misread your previous post. I thought you said that you buy the clone and if you like it, then you buy the authentic.

What are your thoughts on performance between the two?

I have the Snap-On version of this:
http://www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-digital-caliper-47257.html
(Use this coupon for $9.99: 43595562)

It uses LR44 batteries. I bought 10 for $2 off eBay.

I know you mentioned this to me before but 10 bux huh? Ok, I'm going to order those then. Thanks KTM! :toast:

I have a Snap-On version (Blue Point). I think I paid $40 for mine but this looks identical minus the "Blue Point" on the end.

(not mine but the exact same one)

The LR44 batteries last about 6-12 months. I keep a few on hand and they're cheap. Swap out the battery when the display starts to blink.

New Kayfuns, new Taifuns, new others, man do they have a ways to go (maybe) to compete with these Erlkonigins (and clones)
Just my opinion though.
I fill up my clone, change the batteries in my Sigelei 100 watt box (@ 20 watts) and I'm good for about three days.

I do use a few others throughout my day but mainly the Sigelei

I have the Lemo on my Sig. Love the Sig! Its the do everything mod. And if we have a power outage this winter, it will be the last mod standing.

I sent my taifun to the member who gave me the Erlk. The kayfun is just sitting.

I have my vaping nirvana now: 2 Erlks, 2 SquapeRs, 2 Rosev2s and a Lemo, and a Magma. Life is good.

In comparison this FT clone is pretty good the threads and finish are better than i expected. I only have about 4 hours a week to spend on vaping so have very little time. I struggled to wick the erlk at first but but after a few goes with the original I worked out the wicking.

It's still early days but I have put about 50mls of juice through it as an example quality wise the clone is better than the 4 rose v2 clones lambosmoke, pallas, etc I have in comparison to the genuine rose V2s I own.

I haven't tried using the clone parts on the genuine as I bought all I needed for the genuine. Original glass tanks, metal tanks, metal drip tips etc

I really like the juice capacity as dripping on a rocking boat is not worth the hassle;)

I'm going off topic... but since I posted here about it I shall add this:
Got home from work this morning and built a twisted 32 gauge Ni200 coil and stuck it in a TaifunGT. It's 0.17Ω and since I vape at 20 watts I put it there, 450 F on the temp. It's a jack rabbit start but vapes pretty darn good, I have to say that I'm amazed.
That's two strands of 32 NR nickel.

Can't make it do a burnt hit, not even at 40 watts, gets up to around 370 degrees whether at 20 watts or 40.Gotto study this some more. Never felt my TGT's get this warm before.

Thans for the comparo.

I too, struggled with the wicking at first myself. It's a bit finicky but once learned pays off in spades.

Yes, the Yiloong has a narrower chimney. The o ring is on the chimney rather than on the bottom top cap piece. It has clear o rings on the chimney and the fill holes. Everything is larger and thicker. Its 8ml fill capacity. I did cut the wick slots into the top of the deck. It has a larger positive pole air hole.

I like them both, but prefer the Yiloong a little bit.

So far, the green box, not bad, threads are really nice, wasn't as dirty with machine oil as the silver box, wound it up with 1.2 ohm build, threw on the SS tank and drip tip adapter, which won't fit ANY drip tip, only two I had that would fit, was one of two Nautilus tips, and a Sat22 tip.... actually using it right now with the adapter as the drip tip. LOL but not bad, noisy as the others, not too bad. Worth a 20 spot for sure....
