plastic is there in case your battery has a damaged plastic so it may make always contact aal. But if you totally remove it you will not be able to lock the device as you said.
If batteries had serious plastic wrap around them, then I would have made smaller pin on locking cap so it would go deeper on benting cap and it would be able to lock without the plastic.
The simple solution is to reduce the width of the plastic. Its easy and serious method

Is it a bad thing if we remove the negative plastic? Is it needed? I guess for locking only right?

Thats one fantastic review zero! You hit the nail on almost all points and when after some use time comes to clean it or take off the poles, then you will see how more you will appreciate it.

Some initial feedback after using it for few hours.

Haven't tried other tubes yet, but 18500 stock tube feels awesome! in my hand. Feels light yet solid.
Button. what can I say beside "DAMN!". perfect location and feel. one comment I haven't seen yet about the button is how it feels like a electronic button. it is amazing that inside the button tube is 100% mechanical switch.
All the threads and construction seem like they got "finer". all the interlocking and assembly became very minimal in requirement movement. meaning, everything you do on the mod is just "less" movement yet fits tight.
one can only fully appreciate the "auto adjusting everything" design when you start using it. after i put the battery in for the first time, i found myself looking for something to adjust but there was nothing else to do! when i was putting on the atty first time, i was looking to adjust something once again but nothing! wow! simple!
oh, and iAtty looks AMAZING on it. Huge thanks to ESG for planning ahead and making them available before the Esterigon release.
so the bottom-line is, Esterigon is a full 100% hard hitting mechanical mod that is extremely simple to use for ANY USERS.

Button! The Button! I still can't get over how awesome the button is. How can anyone be not totally impressed with that button!

Oh, the mod itself looks fantastic! it looks awesome even for GG standards. yes, it is that good looking. i still can't get over it is a mechanical mod.

anyway, enough rambling from me.
great job Imeo!

That switch, to me, is a big selling point. I've had a few mods that had the switch fail, some you can send in for repair, some you just toss.
Not that the GG switch can, or will fail, but if it ever did need replacing, it would be easy. As for cleaning, how many mods that have a top side button, which I prefer by the way, are easy to get at to clean? Bravo!

These look nice! I like the looks of the Stealths, with the nicely done radius's where the ring connects the top cap to the bottom tube, that look just appeals to me, and just looking at it, you know it's a GG, it's the same with the Esterigon, really like that look.

Unfortunately for me, I won't be ready to get one till sometime in Sept. , but I'll be here reading about the Esterigon in the meantime.

Imeo, I have to say that Esterigon is a total success and that I am amazed by it!
Lightweight with a sense of solidity and compactness, feeling great in hands!

Not only aesthetically, but in use, it is a marvel of simplicity and efficiency!
The switch is mild and beautifully responsive. It falls exactly under the finger.

The conductivity is excellent! (Used with a flat top Efest purple 18500)

In short, this Esterigon is a superb "vaping's precision tool"

I need to confess that I'm so used to GGTS / JGG that, at first glance, I was a little skeptical about the "format" of the Esterigon.
But now, even if Esterigon totaly "different", I reckon that this is a truly great GG achievement. I simply love it !!

And contrary to the opinion of Todd, I don't think that Esterigon is recommanded only "for the GG fans", quite the contrary!
