thats one more issue that I tried hard to solve corona. If you set proteus at 12 watts for example, you may receive 11,8 or 12,2 watts, that is 0,2 watt difference
.... not to speak about the nice oled screens showing a power far from the quantity of watts truly delivered ;)

0,2 watts of difference is highly acceptable ;) i had in mind a test were a sigelei claimed '20 watts' while it was staying at 14 ..
You have indeed well resumed the question sooner , when discussion came about a supposed missing direct indication of selected wattage on Proteus : we all know when our own 'sweet spot' is reached, a matter of feel more than an indication of a number on a dial !

thats true corona.

Lets say that your screen says 12 watts. You try to vape and you dont like it. You will increase or decrease watts.
Now lets say that you dont have a screen. You try to vape and you dont like it. You will increase or decrease watts.

So you follow the same prossedure if you vape a mod with or without a display. Display is useful only to meassure resistance.

As for the fact that we need display for the battery level, thats totally wrong because of a simple reason: Lets say that you vape at 12 watts and the battery is at 3/4 of its full level. You are able to vape. Now lets say that you set your mod at 18 or 25 watts. Will you vape? No, because batterry cant respond. So what is the use of the battery level on a screen? Nothing at all.

You are right Adam. Also screen ruins the mech look of a device.
Many people like the screen. I like it too. But I get bored of it very easy. Also its one more thing that may break as you said.

I dont dislike screens, I just find them not very useful.
I can put a screen on VIR but I ensure you that is not needed, especially on VIR.

I càn live without a screen like said above i know my sweet spot i am finding with my kanthal ribbon wire .8 x.1 it is taking a little longer to work the coil in to where i enjoy it most and i stair at a screen all day screens everywhere lol everyone is different maybe have two options? By the way if you want to drive yourself crazy try giving the correct info just using the voltage divider rule there are so many variables it is insane and they change all the time . lol

I use DNA screen only when changing coil or atomizer to check there's no short. Then operate it in stealth mode. Main thing for me is to avoid bright light that is a pain in the .... when watching a movie or in any dark place. Too eye catching :)
And I love the fact that VIR do not turn on the led at each puff!! This is one of the main reason I switched to mech mods few times ago ... Couldn't bare the light at each puff

Not only for the unity of look or about question of durability of the device i find the choice made of a power selection finally 'managed by taste' instead of an normed number on a selector is a true crucial ergonomic turn, wich will deeply define the Proteus , the 'GG electronics' design oriented to users. I personnaly appreciate very much all the inputs of the project symbolized by a simple tiny button ;) i can understand the need for an anodyzed 100 watts vapeboxes with iphone colorscreens, there is room for everyone in this very dynamic market anyway...

I saw on a vapebash video from PBusardo a connected mod, using bluetooth connectivity to send on the cloud the number of puffs, coil resistance and pretty much all existing settings and parameters ... then your "friends" (and the NSA) are notified in real time of your new puff at 12,1 W, on your 1.4ohm resistance and can "like it" ... isn't it wonderful?
indeed, there's room for everyone, sky is the limit !!

mon, I have think of that too a long time ago but I found it unessesary.

I agree that there is room for all makers. Anyway, my style is to give less for more and real innovation like vir for example. Fancy features without a reason is not my style for sure. Its only more ways for a broken device with no benefits for the user

I can really make more things than any other maker on electronics mon. But it will become an expensive device with totally unessesary features and a device that will fail easy.
These devices are on our hands all day and we put them in places that can be damaged very easy. What I want to make is a device that will never brake, very very friendly user, easy to operate it and innovated.
Imeo, that was a sarcastic comment ;)
There's surely some people interested in a connected mod, but not me. That's way too crazy and gadget for me !
I just find amazing what the vaping devices are becoming, compared to what it was when I started vaping a couple of years ago :)
