I avoid doing it around kids, and usually sit out of the way/stay away from others.

I do get "what is that? is that one of those electronic cigarettes?" Which is my opportunity to sell it to other smokers. My favorite line to tell someone is:
"when I first saw them, I though, yeah, ok, you're gonna replace my cigarette with water vapor. what are you, an idiot? But then I tried it, and it actually works. I've been smoke free for xxx days and haven't looked back. In fact, I haven't spent 5x dollars, and have spent x dollars. Thats x000 cigarettes."
