I see that some of the VTC Mini's being sold are of the 60W variety, and some are 75W.

Will the 75W VTC Mini already have the new 3.0 firmware already installed in it from the factory?
They will all go to 75W as far as I know as long as you are above v2.0 firmware. Mine was originally 60W out of the box until the 2.0 upgrade.

I love my evic, I hate the Tron tank... or maybe it's the Tron coils, either ways, any rta built for TC is far better. I was a little bumed out since for the first couple of days I could only vape TC on the Tron and an NI Kanger Coil (Subtank mini). Yesterday I got some NI200wire and some TI as well, got to building and the vape was amazing!
Anybody else had this experience?

What values are you discussing? Numbers please.
Well, supposedly the tcr for the stock nickel setting is 0600, I am using the same value in the manual tcr mode, and I get a much more consistent vape, and no occasional anemic vape upon waking from sleep that I get from the stock setting.
This is using a .09 ohm 26g spaced nickel coil. I don't usually have the anemic vape after sleep with the stock setting when using coils .15 and above though.

Pretty much everybody hates the tanks that come with the kit but it's largely due to the craptastic CL coils. I love the eGo One tanks that came with the first VTC mini kits but I would've tossed them in the trash if it wasn't for the rebuildable heads. I prefer these over Kanger Subtanks thanks to the CLR heads. I haven't tried a Tron tank but they're pretty much the same design as the earlier ones. I use 26 gauge SS wire to rebuild the .5 ohm CLR heads.

So has anyone else experienced the fact that using the manual tcr setting, even when supposedly set to the same value as the stock setting, performs noticeably better?
I prefer using a 0092 TCR setting for my SS coils. It lets me fine tune for a cooler vape a little better than the SS316 setting. If you prefer a warm to hot vape then the SS316 setting might be the better option. My settings are just personal preference.

I just got a Tron kit for my son for Xmas and the juice holes on the Ti heads are very tiny indeed and we use high VG juice. It works, but not a full satisfaction in vapor production. Has any tried to drill out the 4 holes?

Not directed at you. I realize this is a long thread and not everyone is going to start at the first post as I did to learn as much as I could on a new purchase, but if you start reading 5-10 pages back, many of the SAME questions and opinions have already been covered.

Since the 3.0 firmware release I'd been meaning to pick one of these up. I dropped by a B&M and grabbed one today. I left the tank in the box and attached it to a USB2 port and upgraded the firmware. Installed battery and dialed in the power I wanted and Ti mode. Installed Lemo2 and locked in the resistance.

So far truly "plug and play". Finding the TCR settings menu required another download from Joyetech. I have SS430 and NiFe48 set and will try them later.

Its just slightly taller than my 350J Boxer and smaller and lighter than a SXminiM. Very impressed so far.

Since I don't use Nickle I can't say. We can assume, but don't really know what they use on any of their built in presets, and they should PUBLISH them! With titanium wire, I think the preset is fairly close to what most consider the base of 0035, but SteamEngine uses the vape range of 0036xx, and that's what I run on this mod, as well as my DNA200, slightly warmer. So I think the mini in Ti mode out of the box is pretty accurate with v3.0 firmware.

I got that impression from my reading as well, and was glad to hear it.
My titanium wire has yet to be delivered, and as this was my first TC mod and 26g Ni200 was all I could find locally to play with for TC, it is all I have experience with this far.
I'm not saying nickel is definitely harmful to vape with, I just choose to use a different medium for my own piece my mind. That's why I ordered Ti, but needed to try the TC function of my mini while still within my return window, and Ni200 was all that was available.
Not trying to open that debate here, just my personal preference.

Good for you, titanium is the only wire I use. I don't really care what others use. We beat the various wire choices to death in this thread (link below), and it's ONLY 173 pages long. Then again what I allow into my lungs, is KINDA important to me, so yes, I've read every post in educating myself, as I advise other smart folks to do, rather then rely on one persons answer to a forum question. I tell my new vapor friends, if you don't care or are just lazy, then use the pre-built coils, then again, you still have to invest some time learning how to use your device properly.

Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini Review - Spinfuel eMagazine
"After we received our review units we received an email with a new firmware upgrade.Attaching the device to my Mac (yes, they have a Mac version of the upgrade), it was easy to upgrade. Follow the directions and the firmware updates to v1.02. One word of caution: After the upgrade your eVic-VTC Mini will jump to the full 60watts of power."

Whatever that means, I'm not sure because I sent them an e-mail before I read this, asking if it uses all it's power to reach temp and they said it's not. I guess it's up to the consumer to investigate
