@Tim Jenson Basically, (they use the same joyetech chip)the vtc mini and the vf lite are the same. I handled the vf lite a few weeks ago, meh, its ok. But the evic comes with the option to get the cubis tank.

I have all the tanks I need, what I'm looking for is reliability, and durability. The VF Lite seems like it would hold up better if you dropped it. I've heard magnets poping out on the vtc mini.

I didn't realize that Wismec was a Joytech Company or had direct Product affiliation?
I know the Vape Forward Stout, Flask, and Lite are essentially Wismec Devices built to VF Spec using Wismec Components.

I have a VF Stout and a Evic mini. Dig them both for differing reasons and purposes.

I just got the vtc mini a day ago, the reason I chose it over the much nicer looking and feeling vflite was that it has been out for a while, manufacturing bugs ironed out. If you look at the vf lite you have many reports of defects.

Good point, the V lite is quite a bit more expensive as well.

I'm trying to decide on a single 18650 mod, and I'm particularly looking a build quality. Temp control is a must, I can't decide between the eVic mini and the Vape Forward Lite. Is there any advice you can give me? Is there another mod I should be considering also?
  • EvicVTC would be the more economical purchase by far-In fact you could probably buy two to three VTC for the price of a Lite.
  • EvicVTC has the better GUI and a greater chance of continued & more frequent firmware updates.
  • EvicVTC has been well vetted in the marketplace and enjoys a good reputation for flexibility, dependability, and value.
  • VF Lite seems like excellent build quality that is very ergonomic and a very unique piece of equipment that conveys it is a high end product or status symbol.
  • VF lite appears to have a much nicer 510.
  • VF Lite will have much more Service Support in your warranty period from Vape Forward than Joyetech will Provide for the VTC.
  • Both units will serve you well.
Only you can weigh your options and make the best choice for you, however I would choose multiple VTCs over a single VF Lite. Enjoy your new mod whatever you choose. You really can't go wrong either way.

EDIT: If magnets pop out of a mod, they can usually be glued back in fairly easily.

Well, I ain't knocking VF (own a Stout-Lite's Big Brother) or the Evic mini. As I said, I own and am highly satisfied with both for DIFFFERENT reasons/purposes.
If had to choose one from the other, couldn't.
I'm an AND person. Not an OR ;)

Comparing the 2 on Price-Point only isn't just, fair, or objective IMO.

Agreed!

Perhaps if you elaborated on the merits of the VF Stout it could help him make an informed decision.

I would except he is comparing the VF Lite.
I can attest to the VF (Vape Forward/Wismec Partnership Devices)Build, Materials, and Chip/Board quality being Top-Notch and performs/carries/operates well as expected. Stainless construction obviously has its superiority over that of the Evic mini Material & subsequent Build but then again, it Should as that's one of the Facets that substantiates its Price.
Both Boards (although differing in function and Navigation) operate and perform well across the Vape Preference Spectrum.
As both the Lite and the Evic mini are 18650 Devices, Batt Life & longevity are a Wash.
Both are a Wash (IMO) Size-wise.
I prefer a "heavier" Mod so my bias is toward the VF in Weight/Mass. That is obviously not a truly Objective stance tho.
I prefer the Evic mini as an "Outside-Work" Pocket Mod for the opposite Reason,,, Lighter of the 2.
The Atty attachment and overall Rig Stability is better on the VF but once more, it should be for Material, Design, and Price.

Could go on and on. In the end, IMO you can't really compare the 2 for a proper Judgment. They are Not truly Competitors or from an even & equal Playing-Field.
Neither Superior or Inferior. Simply different "Leagues".

Well said! What do you think of the battery compartment closure quality?

On the Stout (assume same or close on the Lite), no issues except right at the end of the Closing Sweep which due to Spring-Tension on the Battery it requires a slight push up and shut with the Thumb. However, given the Design and what it has to do and fight against to complete the Closure Process, is understandable and no a Biggie once ya get used to it.
Other than that one small deal I like it.
Granted I have only had it for about 3 weeks so far from Time-Proven. I don't anticipate any problems as have looked at the Swiveling Assembly and Lid itself which appear to be quality made and substantial enough to stand the test and wear of time.

Now,,, for fear of being perceived as "Derailing" or Tangents & Hijacks, I best be done talking about the VF in this Thread.
Again I want to stress I gladly own an Evic mini as well and dig that thing equally just for differing reasons, uses, and purposes.

Glad to hear it. I'm partial to the Stout. Smart looking, very ergonomic & if you can find a good 26650, great battery life. Heard a lot of people saying 26650 battery tech hasn't kept up and some 18650s specs are actually better. That just doesn't seem right.

Heard some Stout owners had their mods swapped out twice due to QC issues already no questions asked in very short order.

101Vape has the VF Lite for $65 and Stout for $72. That may change perspective a bit. While I really like the Stout as an alternative to a dual-18650 mod (-for battery life. I vape <40W), the Evic VTC Mini and Cuboid have a much nicer screen and interface. v3.01 firmware (for VTC mini) cleans up most of the issues people have had.

Vaporflask Lite 75W TC Box Mod by Vape Forward & Wismec - SILVER

Vaporflask Stout 26650 100W TC Box Mod by Vape Forward - SILVER

Of course, the VTC Mini is available from Stateside vendor for $35 now...

Well said! I have 3 Evic Vtc Mini's & one magnet did loosen since the magnets to the door are so strong. Glue did the trick.

Since they both use the same chip by Joytech/wismec. Would I be wrong in saying that updates for one mod carry over to the other? Being that the manufacturer of the chipset is the same?
Afraid not. It has been tried by designating the update to use the others bin file in an attempt to put the evics display on another unit. (worked with Wismec Presa only at the time & someone said JT blocked crossing bins afterward)

Good point point, maybe I'll buy both :)
