Hi guys,

After some preliminary research I walked into a local store and got an Evic... they recommended the kanger protank as the best I could get for it. Would you guys agree?

I'm having a pretty good experience with it , but was wondering if I should try any other choices?

I had a few questions

1) What is the consensus rating of Protank vs other tanks for Evic?
2) the coils that I got for the protank... wheres the cheapest place for me to get more
3) Can those coils (atomizers I suppose) be used with other tanks?
4) The white cap that goes on top of the tank for travel bugs me a lot because its very loose. Is there something that is really solid that can be put on that so it doesn't fall out when Im travelling or in my car?

Thanks, I have learned so much from you guys

Hi Alphamamba, let me have a go at answering your questions.
The protank gets a lot of love from a lot of people. Is it the best? Probably not, some would swear on their carto-tanks, others would say it's no good unless you can drip into it, and others still may talk about EVODs or Vivis. If it's working for you, I'd say you're good. You can always get any of those other options I just mentioned to see if you like them better.

The coils - I use Atomizer Head for Kanger Protank & EVOD You might be able to get them for a few cents less, but this is my goto store for most of my hardware.

The heads can be used in EVODs as well as the protank.

That cap is just a silicone tip - it's not really a cap as such. I usually take a pocket knife and cut them down a little so they fit snugly over the tip and I don't have to vape on the metal (you'll have to remove the top of the silicone cap too) It's not really necessary because it's not keeping anything in, although I suppose you could say it gives a little protection against dust. Only thing is, if you are going to use it as a cap, make sure you clean it really well every day. Because that drip tip is fixed, there are few options to change it and I've not really seen any other covers for the drip tip.

Good choice, the eVic with a protank is a nice setup, and I'm sure you're getting a satisfying vape.

I use Protanks on my eVic (2.5 ohm heads) and Mini Protanks (1.8 ohm heads) on my eGos. I like it they're glass, and the tip is built-in and not easy to lose. I don't use the shipping caps. The ProTanks look pretty elegant and clean. Some feel the draw is too "airy" but I think it's perfect, for me. They use the same heads, as will the ProTank 2 and do the EVODS, other than I use different resistances. The heads are pretty easily rebuildable. I don't remove any wicks and they wick 50/50 juice just fine the way I vape. They aren't the cheapest, but I get my Kanger stuff from sun-vapers.com.

Thanks a ton for your advice

Will need to check out EVOD since it was mentioned in this thread more than once.. :)

I guess nothing else can do about the silicone tip...will probably take your advice and cut it up... I like it mostly so it doesnt get dirty when I'm bringing it around

I stand by my evic and protank. They are a solid match. Protanks should not cost more than $15 online. Easy to find a deal here and there.
As for coils, you can get them for as little as a buck each. You'll just have to search for a deal. I get mine from free-cig.
Try an evod and see if you like it. You might just do with it from then on.

I always use my Protank on my eVic. It looks the best on it, no other reason.

Cheapest place to get more coils is to build your own. Looks like you have a good supply of bases, buy some 32ga Kanthal and some 3mm silica wick. You've already got the mod with the ohm meter. You'll be keeping your heads alive for pennies on the dollar.

I don't think the white cap is for travel. I never use it.

That site is great!!! The replacement coils are only $6 instead of the $10 I paid!!

OK question... since Im using an EVIC and I can change the voltage etc on my machine...does it matter what ohms the coil is??

Also you got a good link to evod? :)

Kanger eVod The higher the ohms the higher the voltage you can put through it. About 2.2 to 2.5 should be ok. I like to get the 1.8 cause when Im out and about I just put a couple of evods on a couple of standard ego batteries. The higher ohms don't work as well at low voltages.

You might want to get a Vision Spinner for out and about and that way you don't have to worry about you Evic as much. I have a Vamo and it never leaves the house. But a Vision Spinner has adjustable voltage up to 4.8volt. More then enough. I think they have some on the DiscountVapor website.
