Trying an EVOD on my Provari (510 to Ego adapter) and it's working really well but the draw is terrible! It's way to airy. There is absolutely no resistance at all. A piece of tape over 1 air hole helps but it's still really airy. If you cover 2 of the holes then it's a little too tight. I thought the EVODS were supposed to be a little tighter draw than the Protank 2. My PT2 is like tring to suck a golf ball thru a straw compared to the EVOD. Maybe exagerating a little but is this normal or maybe has something to do with not sitting flush on the Provari?

This is my first thought when I read your post. (It's very snarky so please don't take offense)

Why are you using a $6.00 clearomizer on a $200.00 mod? That being said I am wicked jealous! I love the looks of the Provari but I am to cheap/poor to buy one. I do however use EVOD bcc's everyday and I love them! But then I like light airy draws.

I can think of no suggestions about getting the EVOD to give you the draw you'd like since you've already tried covering the air holes. Best of luck finding your perfect Provari topper!

I've never used an EVOD, but sitting up higher on the adaptor seems like a reasonable explanation. Do you have anything else to try the EVOD on to see if it's airy to begin with?

The biggest reason for trying the EVODS is I am trying to find a few regular flavors to vape and its performance/price point and lower capacity make it a good choice for sampling. Up until the PT2 that I got with the Provari all I was using was refilled cartomizers and a couple Vision nano clearomizers. So actually the EVOD is a big step up in performance and looks!

Geez! What is it with the cats in this thread? :D

Puffcat, (Me), Jocat54 and now an Ocelot!

Let me try to redress that balance.

Woof.

As for using an EVOD on a provari, nothing wrong with that, but I think you hit on the reason as to why most don't. Good idea to try it on a different device to see if it is just as airy, but I imagine it's because the base is floating in the air and most of the airflow is coming in through the bottom of the clearo and not through those little holes on the sides of the coil assembly.

That is why I will never buy a provari, they can't do what a $30 vamo will do*

*here fishy fishy - I am just kidding, please don't yell at me

Dang Shade,
You just called out the Provari Illuminati....... run, here it comes......

I do have similar issues with the PTII
on top of the Sig Zmax,
does not quite sit flush.
Have been able to adjust "airy draw" by twisting top cap up till it bottoms out, very nice then.
Evods sit down in the well and draw is very nice.

You might consider direct dripping to try out new juices. I'm talking about dripping with a plain atomizer, not the rebuildable kind. You can get a dripping atty for about $7. I have a blog about it if you're interested: Drip, Drip, Drip…

Despite the ribbing I gave, I would totally use EVOD's on a Provari! Guess I'm just used to people talking about their big fancy Russian Kayfun RBA DCT sub-ohm dual dragon coil do-dads attached to their prized possessions. (yes I want one)

If I knew how to post pics you guys would have a field day! I have bright orange toothpics sticking out of the air holes of the EVOD - on the Provari. With all 3 air holes plugged I cannot draw at all, so it's not getting air from the base/adapter area. Must just be the nature of the beast. It is performing great. I have some really thick no name chocolate juice in it that would not wick at all in cartomizers or Vision Nanos and it's wicking fine. Not one dry hit in half a tank and incredible vapor.

That's interesting, try with just two bright orange toothpicks sticking out, it's much lower profile. I am sure no-one will notice :)

Great info on dripping Ocelot. I actually have 1 of the 510 bridged and posted here about a week ago. I had no idea how to use it. Got some great info here and got it working pretty good. Then I made the mistake of cleaning with water and trying to dry it by pulsing on my mod. Horrible burnt taste!!! Ifigured I had ruined it but came across a video of cleaning one with vinegar and baking soda. Worked perfect and the burnt taste is gone. Amazing!

I like my Igo-L on my Provari at 1.5 ohms, 28g Kanthal A-1, 8 wraps, using cotton for the wick for dripping, but it's not the simplest of setups. And it can leak out the side at the most embarrassing of moments.

Like this one day at ECC at the Lush booth, well it got hot I think and just couldn't help itself. All those HOT LUSH girls sacheing about and all..... They were quick to offer tissues. <smirking evilly>

I don't have the Provari's but do have the Evod's and in my experience they are way too airy for me as well. I was shocked since I was told that the evod's were less airy than the protank mini, but I found the opposite.

I broke off toothpicks in two of the three holes in the base of mine mine and it improved greatly.

Ultimately this was one of the main reasons I switched to the Mini Protank 2. It had a tighter draw and I preferred the "feel" of the trip tip better. The eVod's mouthpiece was too big for me.

Try getting a couple of Mini Protank 2's. I think they taste better and they are easy to completely disassemble to clean. Not that the Evod's are hard to clean, but they take a while to dry. I can completely clean and dry a Mini Protank 2 in less that three minutes. And because they are made of glass, you can use them to sample anything you want

Sun Vapers has them on sale for 11.99 each which is just .02 more than they are at Fasttech. And you know they are authentic at Sun-Vapers, and you'll get them in just a couple days instead of a couple weeks. Plus Sun Vapers has replacement glass in stock so you have some spare glass in case you get a case of the "dropsies".
