DW, funny you mention that about feeling like a noob. I had a similar experience yesterday.
I was having problems with the 6mm/Ti coil flooding in my Supreme V2, so I ripped it out and re-built with a 4mm/Ti. Everything as hunky dorey. About a half hour into it I took a hit and got, literally, flamed! One leg opened and I had a bright, orange/red glow showing through the air intakes, not to mention a terrible taste and kind of hot lips(no, not Hoolihan). I have to wonder if I had the coil just was tad too high and that end managed to short to the chamber or if I just hit a bad spot in the wire. I re-built again at 4mm/Ti and, knock on wood, no problems through almost half a tank.
That's the first time I've had anything like that happen. It sure woke me up!

You don’t realize how close the coil is to the top of the chamber till you remove the chiminy section inside, for a different sized glass.

At the same time you can remove the chiminy Section & look
Boy if the power was to go out during this cold snap, it would leave a lot of people in real danger. That's something I worry about every winter, not just a short disruption, we've had those before but more than a couple days would be a real problem.

Yeah, it's going to be cold the next two days here then back up in high 30's F, next Tues it shows in the 40's F with rain. Compared to other places we are lucky, won't get get any worse then -10 F here.
