Officers often have a rifle or shotgun in their patrol car. Some carry AR15's which are semi-automatic rifles, NOT assault rifles. Only SWAT and other special units might have assault rifles (full auto).
Assuming they were using AR15's, it is NOT a high powered rifle. In fact, the .223 round is banned from hunting larger game in most states because it cannot kill with one shot. 30rd mags are not high capacity as the media often parrots. That is a standard capacity mag for the AR15 and other rifles. 40rd, 60rd, 100rd, 200rd are high capacity magazines.
This is getting out of hand.
Dallas - 4 officers dead, 7 shot (11 total). 3 in custody and 1 holed up in a garage still exchanging gunfire. Gunman claims there are bombs scattered around the city.
Baton Rouge - Alton Sterling was a convicted felon with a handgun hanging out in a liquor store parking lot selling CD's and DVD's. A homeless man was pestering him for money and Alton got fed up and lifted his shirt showing a handgun. The homeless man called the cops and an altercation ensued. The cops tazered him and he kept resisting. While wrestling him to the ground, someone yelled "GUN!" and the cops pulled their sidearms and then fired when he still resisted. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Hardly an innocent man. Had he not resisted arrest, he would still be alive. No sympathy for him.
Minneapolis - A couple with their daughter was pulled over for a broken tail light. The driver, told the officer that he had a CCW (concealed carry permit). The officer yelled to keep his hands in clear view and then asked for his ID. When the driver reached for his ID, he was shot 5 times. The GF started live streaming right after the shooting.
I think the officer should be charged with murder.
Director of FBI James Comey was questioned by the House Oversight and Govt Reform comittee this morning. I want to believe Dir Comey did what he thought was right but with the evidence presented and the questioning this morning, I'm still shocked that there was no indictment.
The State Dept has reopened an internal probe hours after Dir Comey's questioning with Congress. There may be hope yet (doubtful).
I measured the Tobeco and SXK KF5's and both have 3.2mm center post holes. I'm vaping MTL in the 1 dot position. 4 dots is a tight lung hit.
I wasn't sure about the rifle, that's why I said it the way I did (or at least how I tried to meant it). Thanks for the clarification.
Also, thanks for the heads up on the air outlet. I thought I read 3.2mm, but there have been so many numbers posted and talked about, it's hard to keep track. Thanks for that!
As for the shootings, I mourn any needless loss of life. I wasn't there for any of these events the past few days obviously, but I "think" non lethal options should be used more aggressively before 2 cops holding down 1 guy, and the cops decide the only solution is multiple lethal gun shots. But that's easy for me to say. I just think 2 on 1 could have ended without loss of life. Especially since the 2 were trained law enforcement.
The guy in Minnesota, I agree he should be charged with murder and child endangerment. Again, I was not there, but assuming it happened the way it's being reported or broadcast, that shooting seems like it was done by an inexperienced or nervous cop who shot some honest guy with a 4 year old in the back seat for no reason.
Here's what I do feel, those 3 police officers and maybe more specifically the 1 in MN started something bigger than they (him) are. At least 5 Dallas police officers needlessly lost their lives (so far), unknown civilian injuries, hurt and pain not to mention chaos and terror in Dallas. Innocent people were stuck in buildings, hurt, shot or worse?
Maybe these 2 situations were different than the they seemed on the Internet and TV? I don't know. I would like to think our law enforcement officers are better trained and could end potentially dangerous situations by using non lethal options that I'm assuming they are issued? Stun gun tazers, bean bag guns, rubber bullets, mace, etc... I'm not in law enforcement and not knowledgeable in weapons like some of you are, but I would like to have faith in the men and women who protect our way of life.
Not that it matters but I'm a fat bald white dude. I'd hate to think that if I got stopped by a cop, I could potentially be shot dead just for reaching for my wallet to get my license out! Especially if my 4 year old granddaughter was in the car with me. Ya know?
