I've spoken with Willie on email. He's fine and I've "nudged" him but like most of us he'll post when he feels like it. No problems with anyone in here at all, just doesn't have much to say at the moment, I guess. I'll give him another nudge in a little while.

Life has just been busy as hell for me. I did discover that I have a lush for a dog though. Took 1 sip of my wife's beer then started trying to raid every cup on the table.

Mike, all dogs love beer! My sister had a Springer Spaniel and she gave him about a half a can of Bud one time. He got blotto and was bumping into everything for about an hour, but he sure was "mello".

A quick "willie" update...I got an email from him saying he's up to his armpits in a major repair job on his Jeep. I did "nudge" him so maybe he'll post when he takes a break.

On that note, Jeep repairs, I put a set of coil packs and new plugs in the F150 last week. It's like a new truck and the mileage is improving even with a heavier "foot" checking out the improvements!

I threw in an air filter, too. I took it to a dealer for an oil change and to get a recall done that covered software for the transmission, it's an EcoBoost with a six speed auto. It had problems deciding when to down or up shift, primarily between fifth and sixth gears, under acceleration and the software update fixed that problem. I'm a happy camper now.

Morning!! Got a nudge to get my .... in here and let everyone know I'm still on the right side of the grass LoL. How's everyone doing? What's new?

Me, I've been OK, some good days and some bad when I'm not feeling to well but for me that's "my normal". Had a rough spell a few weeks back where I wasn't feeling well at all but it's seemed to have past and now it's catch up time getting stuff done. The few days I've been working on my old gadabout Jeep, the right side frame rail was all rusted out and it wouldn't pass inspection like that, which is past due... And it needs a new exhaust system... My wife said it was time for a different vehicle but any cheap used haul vehicle will need a lot of work done to it so one way or the other it meant time spent in the shop so I opted to keep the old Jeep going for a while, I know every inch of it now and I know what I have.

I had a metal fab shop bend me up a long rail using 1/8 plate, been cutting that up to make my pieces. I've been cutting out rusted sections as I go, fitting the new pieces which is a lot of measuring twice, cutting, trimming and trimming again. It's been a dirty, messy, back aching job in 90 deg heat but I'm past the half way mark. It's going to be in the high 70's today so I'll take advantage of the cooler weather and spend the day laying under the Jeep welding, sounds fun doesn't it? Got one more short section to fab up then I can start welding, at least it will be a lot cooler today. Here's a few pics of work in progress, click on the thumbnails.

I finally made it here LoL.

Went out to work on it yesterday, spent an hour out there and caved, came back inside, I just couldn't do another day in that heat. I was thinking about working on it last night after it cooled down but I've got more cutting to do and it makes a LOT of noise when using the grinder with cut off wheels, my neighbors wouldn't have appreciated that at night, they have a five month old. When I looked at the weather for today I was so happy to see it's going to be much cooler, I hoped it would be one of my good days so I can make a big push and get as much done today as possible, heading out there soon. All of my exhaust parts are here now and I made a run to town last evening to pick up more welding wire, undercoating, seam sealer and spray paint, should have everything I need now to get the job finished. If I can get the frame pieces finished, fitted in and all welded today I'll be happy, doubt I'll have the entire job complete but we'll see how the day goes and how I feel later on. Going to be a LOT of welding, not may fav thing, especially laying under it with all those sparks raining down on me.
