if the vent on the gas cap is plugged that too would give you the same symptoms and loosing the cap is easy and no cost to try.

I have a John Deere that every now and then, I just unscrew the gas cap a bit then screw it back down. If I don't then it will eventually die. I bought one new cap and the same thing started happening a gain. Rather than buy a second, about every hour of running I just undo it a little then tighten, no problems. I think Deere must have hired some Microsoft engineers, you know, "It's a feature, not a bug".

I know what you mean, I have an old JD 140 made in the 70's and I have an LX176 made in the 90's, the quality of designs, materials and workmanship just are not there like they use to be.

I suspect these vented gas caps are because of California's environment laws, they don't want any gas fumes escaping into the air or darn little. Most of these companies aren't going to make one model for CA and another for the rest of the country so we get this kind of crap. Do you have tiny drill bits? I'd drill a hole in the center of the cap and call it good. My old JD has a tiny vent hole in the cap, yes when the tank is tip top full, from shaking when running a little bit of fuel will spill over. JD made a rubber catch funnel that goes around the filler neck with a drain hose attached to it so any spillage runs down the hose under the chassis and drips on the ground. If the government found me in CA with it they'd have to rope off the whole block, call in a spill team in hazmat suits and dig up the entire yard and haul it away, along with the mower....

Then seize your land, fine you, hound until death and then start on your descendants.

So a little update on my VT200 with the new battery. The chip has run down this one to :( One cell is so low I can't even charge it with my single cell method :(
What I thought was a bad battery turns out to be a Bad DNA200 :(
Good news is my old battery is still able to take a charge with the single cell method.
I'm hoping the one really dead cell will rebound enough to be charged?
It would be a shame to have to recycle a new battery :( If not I have the old original.

I wonder if we will see any old stock DNA250's go on sale, like the 75's Did? I would pick up a few :)

I don't know if that place still has VT200 for 50 bucks? They might if interested. But I am sure the battery is pretty worthless by now. Let's see if I can find them.

I typed in ecigejuice - SterlingVapor in my logs where I got those VT200 for 50 bucks. But can't find their website.

I had a 200 that just stopped charging but the rest of the functions are OK, luckily that was in one of the HotCig DX's that have the swapable battery packs so I just charge the packs with one of the other DX's. But they have gone to the back of the shelf and don't get much love anymore, been using the mods made from the ebay reference kits, love the smaller size and I built a bunch of them, those were a real bargain! Wonder if he's still selling those?

Finally got the frame work done on my Jeep, didn't do much yesterday, just some finishing touches, brushing seal sealer all long an spot welded seams to keep moisture out and then a quick spray of truck bed coating to protect the bare metal. Hoping to feel up to it enough today to get the new exhaust system on it and get it back on the road, getting tired of this job.
