Someone hacked aussievapers.com

My username, email, and some hashed info, etc showed up on the darkweb along with the entire aussievapers.com membership.

See:
https://nuclearleaks.com/random/vbulletindump/aussievapers.com-vb-2017.txt

Change your password if you used it anywhere else.

Mike aussievapers was abandoned by its admin in 2017, the mods and others tried to contact him about the issues with the site for a good many months - with the hacks happening consistently, including coinmining and other nasties, but he was already an infrequent visitor to the site since the time i joined in 2015...rarely saw him, he just paid the hosting bills and remained largely absent.

When it became clear he had no interest in fixing the hacked backend we moved, in early 2018, to vapinginaustralia.com, where all the old crew (including Laurie) now reside.

Sadly aussievapers and its wealth of knowledge was let down by the admin...the community hasnt really recovered, and the new forum isn't as active as the old one...

Edit/Update:

The passwords were never compromised according to The Man Of Girth

“The average individual person infects three other people. That one person who chooses not to do what we’ve asked them to do turns into nine. Nine turns into 27. Twenty-seven into 81. Eighty-one into 243. And so the math around exponential growth continues. And that’s just with a single individual person who has decided not to heed to the actions that we’ve given"

That assumes that each of the newly infected people also failed to do as they were told and that no one subsequent to the first disobedient "Typhoid Mary" followed orders. The example of "exponential growth" requires total non-compliance by every one in the infectious chain.

with so many without symptoms or very mild ones that can easily happen. people still need to go shopping etc. let's act as if we have it and put a mask on - not to protect ourselves but to protect others ;)

The mask can be a false sense of security! The mask can stop you getting infected if some one coughs rite on you and you inhale the droplets, at the same time it has you touching your face more often :(

This is the "N95" mask, a piece of cloth or a surgical/ paper mask offers hardly any protection :(

If you maintain 2 meters of separation, wash your hands with soap & Don't Touch your face, youl be OK :)

I posted this elsewhere but it looks like it's relevant here too.
I don't get people especially vapers not getting the concept of harm reduction.
A mask won't totally protect you...it WILL reduce you chances - even minimally is better than none.

Furthermore...re touching your face more, removing the mask...Do you think that if you have any virus on you it's only on your mask ?
It's gonna be all over your face, hair, clothes...
Wash your hands (and face - and etc...)

Stay safe and use the brains the Good Lord gave ya

These are all Doctors opinions! Judge for your self!

Why do you think a mask makes you touch your face more often? For me, it's a reminder to keep my paws off my face. And to remove it, I only need to touch around my ears. Wash hands before removing it, wash hands again after.

Besides, the primary purpose of anything less than an N95 mask is not to prevent you from getting it, but rather to prevent you from spreading it if you have it but don't know it. Somewhere between 25 and 50% of people who get infected never develop symptoms at all, or if they do develop symptoms, they are so mild as to make them almost unrecognizable, but those people can still spread it.

Oh, and all the videos you posted above are 3-5 weeks old. Rather more recently, the CDC has finally admitted it was wrong and is now recommending their use, especially in areas of high transmission:
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

It's really very simple.
As far as for others around you...
If you are asymptomatic - how the hell are you going to know if you are shedding virus or not ?
If someone else is asymptomatic - how the hell are you going to know they are shedding virus or not ?

Think of it as a Go-Fund-me...every dollar helps.

It's never wrong to err on the side of caution.

I'm not a doctor of course, but that is not to say I don't have any training in infectious disease.
I was a lowly Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions for 15 years in California.
All of my 25 CEU courses every year were on infectious diseases - because it interested me.

Ya the videos are a few weeks old, it don't change the facts, from Real Doctors!
The point I'm trying to make is Masks are little to no protection from getting the Virus! Don't be thinking I'm wearing a mask I'm Safe!

If you want to wear a mask it cant hurt, as long as your washing your hands & not touching your face! These are the more important things to do, to keep you from getting the Virus :)

In the current situation you maintain 2 meters distance & assume everyone has the Virus!

Most if no all stores are not doing returns, Walmart is one. Last night I bought two fans at Walmart and on one of them both the shafts for the speed switch and the one for oscillation were broken off with half of each one stuck inside the knobs. Now I don't care if they take back the fan as long as they give me a new one. I'm going to call them first before I go down to figure out the how to's.

No mask, even the vaunted N95 type, offers total protection against getting a virus. For that, you need full suit and a positive pressure, clean air supply. But any mask offers some level of harm reduction.

Are you familiar with the concept of viral load at initial exposure? The bigger a viral load you're hit with when you're initially exposed, the more likely you are to develop severe symptoms. The smaller the initial load, the more likely you are to have minimal or no symptoms. That's because a small load takes longer to multiply into one big enough to cause problems, giving the body longer to develop the defenses (antibodies and such) needed to fight the infection.

Here's reality: We can't stop this thing. It's far too wide-spread at this point. We can slow it down, but the only thing that will eventually stop it is wide-spread immunity. This can be achieved in one of two ways: 1) Natural immunity due to lots of people getting it and recovering, or 2) A vaccine, but that is at least one year away, or more likely a year and a half or two, and in fact, it may take a lot longer than that. People have been saying that an HIV vaccine is "just around the corner" for over 30 years, but we still don't have one.

Bill Gates said that the world is way overpopulated back in February 2010 I believe it was. And his solution to reduce the population was through vaccines. I still should have that recording archived here.
