I believe I figured out where the setting is why it resets it once a day. Here in Properties...

It used to say 1 day and 1 minute. The highest value you can put in is 9999 days which is 27 years. So far it has stayed Disabled. Hopefully it will stay there for 27 more years. :D

Is that a Window Pro option only? I have 'Home' and 'Windows Update Properties' does not appear.

Nope, it is in Windows 10 Home too.
  • Win+R
  • services.msc
  • scroll down to "Windows Update"
  • Right click and select "Stop" <-- Only if currently running
  • Right click and select Properties
  • General (tab)
  • Startup Type "Disabled"
  • Recovery (tab) See pic

So if anyone wants to update their Windows 10 to version 2004 and don't want to wait till it's offered in Windows Updated you can get it here:
Download Windows 10
i'm leaning more toward 'no more updates' ;) i just manage to get by as far as computer knowledge is concerned and reading about updates creating havoc in the process scare me to no end :?:

But on my system I also have this....
And it wont allow me to change it, even with admin privileges.

Looks like it is protecting itself.

You're trying to change the Windows Update Medic Service, as it won't let you change that one anyway. Change the one below just called Windows Update. ;)

Same here, but start up type is "manual" an I won't be starting it. I think it may be linked back to windows update service.

Are you too trying to change the Windows Update Medic Service one? Don't bother with that one, just the Windows Update one. :)
